A/N: Ooh we've reached Chapter 24. What a special number considering it was Chase's that he was given by the legend Jeff Gordon.
After Chase got off the phone with Ryan Blaney we continued talking while he drove to my apartment. He began telling me how Ryan was freaking out on the phone about Chase and I meeting each other earlier than we had originally planned to. He also told me how excited that Ryan is to get to meet my friend Mikayla. I began telling Chase about how much Mikayla and Ryan have a lot in common and that they really would be good for each other. They both love Star Wars, dogs, music, going to concerts, their family, hanging out with friends, and many more things. When I finished explaining to Chase all of that he looked over at me and said "dang they really do sound like they would be perfect together." He then asked if she was ever gonna come to a race, so her and Ryan could officially meet in person? I told Chase that it all just depends on what Mikayla's schedule is, because of her being a fashion designer she is usually busy either making clothes or dressing different celebrities for red carpets, award shows, etc.
We had been driving for a while before I had realized that Chase had turned onto my road that my apartment was on. His truck slowly came to a stop in my driveway, so it was time for me to get out of the truck. Being the southern gentleman that he is Chase helped me out of his truck and then walked me to my front door, so he could know that I was safe. He figured out a plan for himself before he had to head back out to Hendrick. His plan was to go to Hendrick and go to a few meetings that he had about the race this weekend, then when he finishes up come back over to my place before he heads back to the airport to fly out for the race. I pulled my keys out of my purse and unlocked the door before heading in with Chase right behind me. We walked into my apartment and he looked around for a few minutes while I sat my luggage down and got my computer out. I then walked over to where he was standing looking at the pictures that I had hanging on the walls and that were placed on the fireplace.
I began telling him about each of the pictures that I had on my wall and fireplace. I had some with my friends from college, my family, my dog and I, my sister and I, and me at Sanford Stadium. We talked for a few minutes before he had to go and he didn't want to be late. So I walked him to the door before we stood there and hugged and then he kissed me on my forehead before saying bye to me and leaving. He was gonna let me know when he got to Hendrick and then call me before he leaves Hendrick. He planned to come see me again before he flies out for the race this weekend in Kansas. After the race this weekend, NASCAR will be here in Charlotte for a whole 2 weeks for the All-Star Race and the Coca Cola 600. It is definitely gonna be a busy 2 weeks for me I'm sure.
I unpacked my suitcases and began doing some laundry before I sat back on my couch to start typing up a report about my trip that I had just got back from. While I begin typing my report I decide to call Sarah and gossip to her about what has all happened in the span of one day. In my report I decide to keep it "professional" and not explain everything that happened during my trip to Dawsonville, Ga.
***Phone Conversation with Sarah***
Julia: Hey girly how are ya?
Sarah: Hey I'm good! How was your trip?
Julia: It was so much fun and such a neat experience!
Sarah: Hmm you sound so giddy on the phone you must have had a good time. How was meeting Chase your "boo-thang?"
Julia: OMG do I really sound that giddy? Ugh he was the absolute sweetest and even hotter in person.
Sarah: Oh yeah you definitely are giddy. Do you think that you'll end up together?
Julia: Dang you are getting to the serious questions already. Well if you hold on I'm gonna tell you about what all happened. We talked before the interview, after the interview, during our lunch date, and then he asked me to spend the rest of the day with him hanging out around Dawsonville.
Sarah: Well okay then tell me all of your girly gossip.
Julia: He took me to his dad's museum there in town and we walked around there taking pictures, and he told me different stories about him growing up. Then we left from the museum and stopped by his house for him to pack a suitcase for the race this weekend and while I was there I got to meet his parents and his dog. After that we headed to the airport since he has his pilot's license he could fly us back privately. While we were flying back here to Charlotte we were talking and singing when he suddenly started singing Check Yes or No by George Strait. I didn't really know what to think at first and then I finally decided to build up the courage to just tell him and say yes.
Sarah: You have got to be kidding me right?
Julia: Dude I know right I was freaking out the whole time. That's not even the whole story though. After that we had began to descend into Charlotte, so he had to focus. When we landed he got out of the plane first and then came and helped me out. I got out of the plane and then we just stood there hugging each other tightly until we had both started to lean into one another and then that's when the magic happened. We kissed...
Sarah: OMG I am dying this is the best love story ever. So what happens now?
Julia: Well because I kinda work for NASCAR we are gonna keep it on the down low for right now. I don't want him nor myself to get in trouble, because it could be considered very unprofessional for both of us.
Sarah: WOW. I can't wait to see you next weekend and get to check you two out in person. Christian just got home, so I'll let you go. Thank you for calling me. Bye!
Julia: You are something else I swear. No problem. Bye!
***End of Phone Conversation with Sarah***
During that phone conversation with Sarah Chase had texted me letting me know that he had made it to Hendrick Motorsports. He said it shouldn't take him more than an hour and then he should be on his way back here to me.
