//Chase's POV//
After receiving Julia's contact information from Blaney I decided to risk it and go ahead and send a text to her. I figured just a simple hello and a nice talking to you this morning would be a decent text to send and see if it becomes a conversation starter. I waited for a few minutes before feeling my phone vibrate and light up saying I had a text message, I got all giddy inside seeing that it was from my "Georgia girl" Julia. She had sent me back a text saying that she had a great time being on the podcast this morning and that she enjoyed getting to talk to me also. I sent back a text to her just making some more small talk about how Blaney is always trying to get me on Glass Case whether it's an in studio conversation or just a phone call that I can answer from the comfort of my own home. I also mentioned that I would love to meet up with her face to face when I come to Charlotte for the race.
I felt like after sending that text to her that it was a little bit risky. I wasn't trying to scare her away and make her not like me since we've already made a connection before meeting in person. I am really hoping that neither her nor my schedule is going to be super crazy for the 2 weeks that I'll be in Charlotte, I would love to show her around my motorhome since it pays homage to our great state of Georgia and our professional sports teams. I began to daydream about what that would be like and made me even more excited to get back to Charlotte so soon, I came back to reality to see that Julia had messaged me back!
She had messaged me back saying that she would love to meet up with me when we get to Charlotte, I just needed to send her my schedule for that weekend to make sure that nothing would interfere. She also mentioned that she thought that it was super sweet of me that I had asked Blaney to ask her first and get her permission and respect before he sent me her phone number. When I read that text I began to feel all happy and think that maybe I really did have a shot with this girl.
I sent her back a final text just saying that I would make sure to send her my schedule as soon as I get it after the upcoming race on Sunday. I added that I would talk to her later since I figured she was busy and probably tired since doing the podcast that morning. She then quickly sent back that she was just typing up a little report for her job about the fun experience that she had at MRN, and that she would also talk to me later on. When I stopped texting her I immediately wanted to call Blaney and tell him what had all just happened.
***Phone Conversation with Blaney***
Blaney: Hello Clyde...how was your day today?
Chase: Hey Ryan. My day was pretty good, how bout you?
Blaney: Mine was pretty good also. I can already tell from how you are sounding on the phone tha something must have happened between you and Julia.
Chase: Dang buddy I guess I'm not too hard to read then when it comes to girls. Of course I had to immediately call you and tell you that Julia and I have already been texting with each other. I hear some people in the background where are you and what are you doing at the moment?
Blaney: Look at you my best friend has got some game haha. I am actually at MRN Kim, Chuck and I are making a gift basket for Julia since she did so good today. We talked and we want to ask her to be our permanent fill in when one of us is out of town or sick. So our plan is to make her this basket and surprise her tomorrow and ask her would she like to accept our offer and join the Glass Case family.
Chase: Sure I have some game maybe it was my cute Georgia personally that everyone loves. That sounds like a lot of fun. What all items are y'all putting in her gift basket and would you mind putting some of my merchandise in there as well?
Blaney: Haha sure it was buddy whatever you say. In the basket we are gonna include a signed poster from the podcast, 2 yeti cups one with the NASCAR logo on it and one with my number on it like we all have, some vintage racing shirts, a new credential holder, and maybe a few other items I'm not sure yet. Yeah I'll swing by Hendrick Motorsports and pick up some of your merchandise to put in there too since I know it'll make you happy.
Chase: Sounds like y'all got a nice amount of items already. Thanks for doing that for me I definitely owe you one. What was your reaction to seeing her in person?
Blaney: Yean I think Kim may try and get her a little vase of some roses also. I'll probably just get you to fly me somewhere as your payback. My reaction to first meeting Julia was that she was really beautiful. She has medium length curly dark red hair, she is short but not too tiny, she has a southern accent but it's not like yours, and she loves to drink sweet tea. I immediately thought of you when I met her/saw because I think that she is perfect for you and could be your soulmate.
Chase: She sounds amazing already and I've only had a phone and text conversation with her. If we do end up together we have you to thank and consider you our personal matchmaker. My parents are calling on the other line because I'm supposed to be flying back to Georgia tomorrow and spend some time with them before leaving for the race. So I'll keep you updated if I have anymore conversations with Julia. Bye Blaney thanks for giving me my future girlfriends number.
Blaney: Bye Chase...I hope it works out for you buddy. Maybe Julia will have a friend that she could set me up with. See you later.
