When a new journalist/ reporter takes on a new job at a NASCAR racetrack she soon discovers that she has found love where she least suspects it. Along the way she meets new friends and brings them "along for the ride."
After getting off the phone with Chase I felt even more giddy than I already did in the first place. Even though we haven't met face to face yet I already have these feelings for him. I know that these feelings feel different then ones I have had before when talking to a guy that I find attractive. I haven't told anybody about me having these feelings towards Chase and I probably plan on keeping it that way for right now. I got ready for bed and talked to my parents for a few minutes before I got in bed and fell asleep. I began to dream about this cute curly haired boy from Georgia that was currently two states away from me...
[The Next Day]
I woke up to my alarm at 6:30 this morning and began to start getting up and getting ready for the day. Like always I have to be at work at 8, but I like to be there early. I checked my phone and saw all these notifications that some people had tagged me in posts and wanted to follow me. I quickly realized that both NASCAR and MRN had made their announcements of me joining the Glass Case of Emotion podcast and Kim,Chuck, and Ryan had each posted about me and their surprise for me yesterday. The Speedway also made a post congratulating me as well and they had shared my articles that I had written. Today I decided to wear a black long-sleeved turtleneck that was tucked into a pair gray and black plaid pants with some white heels.
I got to the Speedway at 7:45 I got to the building and scanned my credentials to get in. I then walked down to Kate's office to check in with her like I have been doing since I started working here. She saw me and told me to come inside and sit down for a few minutes.
Kate: Since everything has been posted and announced involving you. The media, NASCAR, and everyone else has been having a fit over you. They want to know who you are, can they use you for interviews, where you work, are you seeing anybody, etc.
Julia: Wow really? I noticed this morning I had so many different notifications on my phone from all these different people and everyone wants to follow me on my social media's as well.
Kate: I have already had several phone calls from NASCAR asking if you could come and do some interviews for them. You would be interviewing different drivers, crew chiefs, spotters, team mates, and so many more. So I have a special interview that you could do if you wanted?
Julia: That is the coolest thing. I feel so honored to be receiving all of these opportunities from y'all. What is this special interview?
Kate: With NASCAR being with Fox for half the season and with NBC for the other half they haven't made it to the middle of the season yet. So NASCAR is still with Fox and they want to do a hometown interview with Chase Elliott at the famous Dawsonville Pool Room. If you would like to go and do the interview I just need to let NASCAR know, and they already have everything taken care of. So what do you say?
Julia: Are you serious? That would be such a cool experience and it helps me practice before everyone gets here for the All Star Race and the Coca Cola 600. Being from Georgia I know that the Dawsonville Pool Room is a very historical place in the racing world also because of the ties to the Elliott family. I would love to do the interview!
Kate: Everyone at NASCAR said you would be well equipped for doing this interview so we had to ask you. It is so beneficial to us that you are from Georgia too, and you know the fun facts also. I'll call NASCAR now and let them know. I'll let you know when I hear from them and then we will get you ready to head out to Dawsonville.
Julia: Thank you so much for everything so far. I really am so appreciative of you and this organization. I'll just be in my office typing up the official announcement from me about my job with MRN.
After saying that I left Kate's office and walked straight into mine. I have to text Ryan that I will be the own going to interview Chase in his hometown but I don't want anybody to find out that it will be me. Then chase really will be totally surprised to know it's really me in front of him. I know that Ryan would definitely not let it slip to his friend when it comes to me because he secretly wants this to happen to the 2 of us meaning Chase and I meeting up. This job that I have truly is amazing! finished up my report and then I received the okay from Kate to go ahead and post on my social media accounts my announcement!
