As Hoseok entered the apartment, the smell of something sweet had made its way into his nose. The smell of a certain type of dessert that Hoseok loved to eat. Curiosity eating him up enough, he quickly slipped into his slippers near the door and made his way into the living room. His eyes widened upon seeing Jungkook covered in flour and icing. Walking closer, he noticed that he was wearing a black apron that covered his white shirt and sweatpants. As the younger was putting the icing on the cake, Hoseok decided to walk behind Jungkook to take a look at the cake that had coconut sprinkled onto it.
Jungkook smiled to himself before standing back up straight and looking down at his finished product in satisfaction. "Perfect," he murmured.
"It is indeed," Hoseok suddenly said, causing the younger to shriek. He turned around swiftly with the icing, accidentally squeezing the bottle and letting the sweet substance fall onto the red-haired boy's shirt.
Jungkook gaped, slowly meeting eyes with the elder who seemed just a shocked as he was. "Crap, I'm so sorry."
The younger immediately fumbled around for paper towels and once they were found he pressed the paper towel against Hoseok's chest, trying to remove the icing but only just making more of a mess by smearing it. Hoseok couldn't help but stifle out a chuckle as he watched his roommate struggle.
"Come on, it's fine." He told him, pushing his hand away. Before Jungkook could disagree the elder lifted up his shirt, taking it off completely.
Jungkook smacked his hand over his eyes. "I-what are you doing?"
"I just came back from working out anyway so my shirt smells like sweat, no need to wipe it off for me." He answered, smiling brightly before continuing, "What's the occasion?"
His hand slowly left his eyes as he looked down at the cake. "Nothing...It's for you."
"Me?" Hoseok asked. Watching the younger nod, he raised a brow. "Why?"
"For being a pain in your ass for the longest."
Hoseok sighed, "Jungkook." As delicious as the coconut cake looked and as much as his heart warmed up at the thought that he remembered how much he loved coconut cake, the thought of him apologizing so much was too much. "You've done so much."
Ever since their heart to heart talk, the younger had turned into a totally different person. He began cleaning the house, leaving his bedroom door open, waking up extra early to make breakfast for the two of them and even putting their shoes next to each other before coming in. Of course, Hoseok thought they were nice but he was way too weirded out.
"You don't like it?" The younger asked, a small pout forming on his face. Hoseok's expression softened right away.
"Yes! Yes of course I do, you even remember that it's my favorite," He told the younger, watching his pout turn into a shy smile. "The thing is...you're being so nice that it's actually kinda scary."
"Scary? Why do you say that?"
"I don't know, maybe because for the past 9 years you've always acted tough, with your snappy remarks and bitchy attitude. It's just kinda strange that you're all of a sudden this super duper nice guy," The elder answered.
Jungkook sighed, "Is me being like this not okay?" Truth was, Jungkook thought he owed Hoseok a lot and he felt obligated to owe him.
"Don't get me wrong, the cake and the things you're doing around the house is really kind...but do you honestly think this is you?"
Jungkook bit his lip, as he tried to understand his words. The harder he thought about it, the more he understood how he had no idea how to act around Jung Hoseok.
"No, you're right. I guess me being so nice is kinda strange and out of nowhere," he stated while looking down at the white cake.
Hoseok stood beside the younger, sticking his index finger in the cake and letting his taste buds explore the icing. "Just be yourself, Jungkook ah. If you do that, I think we'll be okay."
The younger nodded with a smile. The weight suddenly lifted off his shoulders, the smile he had quickly turned into a mischievous smirk. "Well if that's the case then..." He trailed, his eyes slowly lowering its way towards his toned body. He snatched the icing squeeze bottle off the counter and began to squeeze it on his abs, smearing it.
"Woah!" the younger gasped, stumbling back as he looked down at him putting icing all over him.
"Don't ever take your shirt off in front of me again." He finished before breaking out into laughter. Hoseok scoffed as he sneakily grabbed the bag of flour next to him.
"You think you can just make a mess on me and not get payback?" Hoseok didn't even let him get a chance to answer as he threw the flour on him, making a mess on him and the floor.
"Oh you're on!"
"So do you not know how to knock anymore?" Seokjin asked, walking out of the bathroom with a towel in his hand to dry his hair. He wasn't exactly surprised to see Yoongi, more surprised to see the younger looking quite frantic.
Yoongi stood up abruptly as he heard his voice. "Hyung, you wouldn't believe who I just saw..."
Jin chuckled before rolling his eyes, "Is it that Austrian guy we met at the shop? I told you he's not gay–"
"No!" Yoongi cut him off, "It's Namjoon! The Kim fucking Namjoon!"
"Namjoon? No way! Are we talking about the same Kim Namjoon that you're talking to on Tinder as well as Kim Taehyung's..."
"Brother? Yeah, it's him." He interjected once more before he began to pace. "Like the dumbass I am...I just stand there and then just run away. He saw me too! God that's even more embarrassing."
Jin grabbed the blonde-haired boy by his shoulders. "Okay just relax, the pacing makes me nervous." Yoongi reluctantly agreed before he let the elder sit the both of them down.
When Yoongi had seen Namjoon, he almost couldn't believe it was him. He had wished to greet him properly but because it had been so sudden and the fact that his famous brother was there, he had felt overwhelmed.
He did examine his features though and he had to say...Kim Namjoon was not only a beauty through a small picture on Tinder.
"Do you know why he's here?" Jin asked, watching the younger intently.
Yoongi shrugged, "I don't know. I think he came to surprise Taehyung because he looked surprised to see him too."
"Well, you can't run like that again, eventually you're going to have to face him." Yoongi sighed.
"I know that! I just...I really didn't expect to see him."
Seokjin slightly smiled before standing up, "You'll be just fine, Yoongles. You should get going though, I have to clean and I can't be bothered cleaning when people are around. Thank you for the groceries."
"Yeah...no problem, " Yoongi answered before making his way out the apartment and then immediately seeing Kim Taehyung smoking outside.
He wanted to go inside as quick as he could, thinking he might possibly see the purple-haired guy he was trying to avoid for the time being. Fortunately, he wasn't outside with him.
"Hey...it's Yoongi right?" Taehyung asked, letting smoke leave his lips.
The elder gulped, afraid that he might ask multiple questions about what had occurred just an hour ago. Though what he had said next was something he truly didn't imagine to hear.
"What is Jinnie hyung's number?"
