"Taehyung ah?"Taehyung nodded, giving him the smallest smile. "You looked familiar but I didn't want to come any closer and interrupt."
The elder found himself scrambling to get up, not knowing why but he felt like he should. Wiping his thighs, he responded. "No...no you're fine. You've uh...you've met my mother so I don't really have to introduce you to her do I?"
The younger shook his head, motioning him to sit down. "How long has it been since you've seen her?" he asked while sitting down.
Seokjin plopped back down to the ground next to him, both facing the grave. "This is my first time in like 10 years."
"You haven't seen her since you left?" He asked, quite stunned but more focused on the blunt he was trying to roll. The elder shook his head in response. "I remember the last time I saw her...she looked dead inside."
Seokjin couldn't help but chuckle as he was being handed the blunt. "I don't know why that's so funny to me...maybe cause she really was dead."
The younger smirked as he watched his hyung light up the blunt and put it in between his plump lips. Those same plump lips he used to kiss before.
The same plump lips that he had to stop focusing on so much.
"Anyway, why are you here?" Jin asked, watching smoke escape his mouth.
Taehyung shrugged, the sudden memory of his step father popping up in his head. "Visiting my Dad, it's been a while so I thought why not?" He took the blunt from his hyungs hand and put it in between his own lips.
"Do you ever wonder what it would be like if...if they weren't dead?"
Taehyung's eyes met the elder's and stayed there for a good minute, trying to actually imagine what it would be like if things were simple.
"I probably wouldn't have become an actor...wouldve went to a college nearby and stayed close with my family. Joonie hyung wouldn't be mute and he'd make more music. Studied some stupid major like business or finance or something, " Taehyung answered honestly as he had another puff.
"I wouldn't have left."
Taehyung froze as he looked at the elder again, who was not looking back at him this time but at his mother's grave.
"Everyone thinks I left because of the opportunity but honestly if everything was simple, it would actually be a decision I would've had to think long and hard about but not go in the end." He explained as he was passed the blunt.
"Then why'd you go?"
"Because of you."
Seokjin snorted at Taehyung's widened eyes. "I was mad because you disappeared after we had that heart to heart on the roof and I had nothing here for me anyway. So once that offer came up, I had nothing to think about...so I took it immediately."
"But if my mother was alive, if you're father was never murdered, I'd still 'hate' you but I wouldn't have left."
Taehyung began to smile, it wasn't a big one but it was something and for once, he felt like he was becoming human again...because lately he felt as dead as Seokjin's mother.
"Maybe...maybe things like this are meant to happen though," Seokjin continued. "It could be like...fate or something."
Taehyung watched the elder in awe. "Yeah...fate."
Jungkook was pushed down on the couch, groaning in annoyance. "Hyung, what the hell!"
See what had happened was...Hoseok had been sick of avoiding the topic Jungkook was dreading to talk about. So what he had done was basically told the younger to meet up with him only to kidnap him and bring him back to his place.
"I'm sorry but I can't keep letting this tension between us continue," Hoseok began as he sat down on the coffee table in front of the younger. "It's time we talk about it."
"Do you really think that's important right now? We're back in Korea for Tae–"
"Even Taehyung wants us to fix our shit! He could literally sense the awkwardness between us when he first saw us and he's not even well. Do you get what I'm saying? We have to resolve this."
Jungkook sighed, "I'm not doing this."
Hoseok didn't care though. He was gonna make sure to have this conversation with the younger. "Remember what you said that night?"
The younger rolled his eyes, "No, what did I say?"
"Even if I regret this...don't regret this."
Jungkook froze, keeping his eyes on the carpet. He mentally cussed at himself. Of course he remembered it, in fact...he remembered every little detail that happened that night.
He couldn't forget it even if he wanted to.
Hoseok took the panic in his eyes as a yes. "Do you regret it?"
Jungkook shook his head. "Hyung, I don't want to do this."
"I don't care, we have to."
"I don't understand why we have to. Why can't we just forget it? I was already doing that just perfectly. We're supposed to be friends again...shit like this happens but I don't think it needs to be talked about because nothing has changed. It's not like anyone's catching feelings." Jungkook went off, scoffing to himself at the end.
It felt as if Hoseok had been slapped with realization when Jungkook had said that. He quickly pushed that away though...feelings? No way! Hoseok couldn't have caught feelings just cause of that one night.
There had to be more when it came to feelings...
So why did he feel like it was already enough?
The elder felt as if his throat was closing up...too much was on his mind and it was suffocating. Abruptly standing up, he grabbed the younger by the wrist.
"Taxi's should um...still be running. We'll talk about this some other time." Hoseok quickly rambled before opening his front door and pushing the younger through it.
"Wait what? Jung Hoseok, what the f–" He was interrupted with a door slammed to his face.
The elder exhaled heavily as he turned around and slammed his back against the door.
He didn't even think about that until Jungkook said it. No, it just couldn't be that.
There was no way he had feelings for Jeon Jungkook...not so quickly anyway. It was just too fast.
That night though...he vividly remembered the youngers eyes, the younger's laugh, the younger's beautiful smile. He was in awe of him that night.
Maybe just maybe it wasn't only that night he was in awe of Jungkook.
