LUCEY'S POV

"This is seriously the worst idea ever," Calum said as he watched me attempt to drag Luke out of the bedroom.

"He promised me that we could do whatever I wanted today!" I huffed as I tugged on his arm. Luke just looked at the ceiling and shook his head.

"In my defense, I didn't know that she would want to go shoe shopping when I made that promise," he groaned obnoxiously, still not budging from where he stood.

Cal continued watching the scene play out, too amused for my liking, as he laughed quietly and shook his head. "You guys are two cute," he joked sarcastically, and I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Suck my ass, Calum," I retorted.

"Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather not."

"That's not what you were saying at the club last month."

That shut him up.

"Okay, too soon," Luke interjected. "I don't need to hear this." He put his hands over his ears and screwed his eyes shut singing quietly to himself to tune us out.

"Grow up," Calum said, probably regretting ever getting involved in the first place. He never learned from his mistakes.

There was an awkward pause before I rolled my eyes and went back to pulling Luke toward the door. He fought back a bit, but accepted defeat when I pouted out my bottom lip. Good thing I knew his weak spot. After letting out a long and drawn-out sigh, he finally complied, grabbing his keys and a hoodie. I beamed triumphantly and kissed his cheek.

"It's going to be fun, trust me," I reassured him, but he didn't look convinced.

"Anything you say, Lu. As long as I don't have to try on any Gucci or whatever shit it is you girls love so much."

"Oh, shut up and just be happy you get to spend the day with me."

This seemed to change his mood a little, and he gave me a half-smile and draped an arm around my shoulders as we walked down the porch steps to the car. "I guess I can live with that," he conceded.

------

"Are you kidding me? Those shoes are ugly as hell!"

"But they're pink! I thought girls loved pink!"

"Oh my God, Luke," I cried. This should not be such a struggle for him to understand. "These are fuschia, and they would make me look like a hooker!"

"I don't see what's wrong with that..." Luke mumbled under his breath, earning an disapproving glare from me. What a pig.

"These are much better," I explained, pulling a pair of teaberry pumps off the shelf.

"Those are like, the exact same color!" Luke protested, running a hand through his hair in frustration.

"Not even close, babe," I sighed as I slipped off the shoes I was wearing and walked over to a mirror in the changing room to try on the heels. And I'm not going to lie. Between the somewhat tall shoes and my somewhat tight skirt, my legs looked pretty sexy. I gave a satisfied smirk before catching a glimpse of Luke in the mirror. His mouth was slightly agape and there was no doubt that he was looking directly at my ass. "Don't make it obvious or anything," I smirked, though secretly I was pleased. I had him right where I wanted him.

"What? Oh. Well, I can't help that you look hella fit right now. You were definitely right about the shoes though. Your legs could kill in them."

"Except for the scars," I muttered, mostly to myself, as I tugged down the hem of my skirt, which was beginning to ride up. Distracted by adjusting my clothes, I didn't notice how close Luke had gotten to me until I felt his body heat against my back.

"I think you look beautiful," he whispered next to my ear, his warm breath fanning onto my neck. I shivered.

"Thank you," I whispered back carefully, unsure of what he was up to.

Luke planted a soft kiss onto my shoulder before running his hands down my waist. It wasn't hard to see what he wanted, and at the moment, I honestly wanted it too. I'd been thinking a lot lately, and I decided that I was ready to go all the way with Luke. The only thing stopping me was my fear of having another episode and scaring him away. Then again, it had been quite a while since I had had a flashback, so maybe the coast was clear. Either way, I made up my mind that I was willing to take the risk. Tonight.

I turned around quickly to face Luke, trying my best to be seductive as I walked my fingers up his chest. "I know you totally hate shopping and all, but I promise it'll be worth it in the end."

Luke looked mildly confused at my sudden mood change. "How so?" He asked.

"Just think how much you'll appreciate shopping after I leave all the clothes I buy in a trail to your bedroom." Smooth. Yeah, super slick. Okay, not really, but I was trying.

I thought Luke's eyes were going to literally pop out of their sockets at my bold statement. He swallowed audibly and stuttered for a few seconds before regaining control of his mouth and trying to play it cool. "Ha ha, cute joke."

"I'm not joking," I said casually as I slipped the shoes off of my feet and carried them toward the checkout line. Luke froze for a second in shock, but soon caught up and followed close behind me.

"Are you being completely serious right now? Like, this isn't another test or anything, right? Because I'm pretty sure I'm about to fail it."

I shushed him as I reached the checkout counter and paid for my shoes. He stood directly behind me, impatiently tapping his foot like a toddler.

"Would you stop being such a child?" I hissed as we walked out of the store and into the parking lot.

"Would you stop being such a tease?" He retorted. Ooh, shots fired.

"Technically, I'm only a tease if I build you up and then don't give you any." I winked before unlocking the car and climbing into the passenger seat.

"You'd better be implying what I think you're implying," Luke said lowly, his pupils slightly dilated.

"That we're going to make cookies and play Monopoly when we get home?" I asked innocently.

"Not even close," he murmured.
