Chapter 5: Gold diggin' Mia

Raheem laid across his bed. He had been home for hours either sleeping or eating. He had no work to do and he was bored, he didn't mind working because it was something that kept him occupied.

He picked up his phone for the third time and he still had no missed calls or texts. He hoped Cornell would call him with something to do. He knew that wouldn't happen, Cornell was planning for his party tonight. He had decided to throw a party to celebrate Raheem coming into the business.

Raheem decided on hopping in the shower and heading to the mall. He would pick up some things for his mother then some things for himself, he had people to impress tonight. He also would be the center of attention so of course he had to show up and show out.

He went inside the bathroom combined to his room. He had bought him a three bedroom condo in the suburbs. He loved his neighborhood. No drama or noise and he could rest peaceful every single night unlike when he lived in the hood with his mom. He was thankful he had made the choice he did or he would still be struggling.

He undressed and turned on his shower. Once he noticed the water was hot enough he got inside. He bathed and bathed with the men's soap Cornell had recommended since Raheem had no clue about good soap and all.

An hour late he was dressed. He had on a Falcons shirt and jeans with Jordans. He picked up his phone and keys then proceeded out the door. He glanced around then he noticed his neighbor, the finest white woman he'd laid eyes on. Her ass was plump and round with her blonde hair hanging down her back, God has blessed her.

He didn't wave nor speak because he didn't feel like he looked good enough so he simply got inside of his car and pulled away.

"She would love the brown one. Pink, I'm not so sure." The employee said.

Raheem had been inside the Fendi store for hours because he had been searching for his mother a purse. The female, Lola who worked there was helping him choose since he had a hard time. Lola said brown was for women and pink was for little girls and Raheem kind of understood her.

After thinking, he chose brown. He knew his mother would like either one because she understood and was appreciative for anything she had. He didn't just get her a purse, he got her a Rolex and shoes to match. He had to keep his old woman fresh.

The total was over three thousand which Raheem had no problem paying. As said before, that doesn't put dents in his pockets. He paid and went searching around the mall for clothes for himself.

Minutes later, he had himself some Prada. He would be wearing that designer and as usual, the color was white. He bought him a white Rolex to match also. Now he was hungry, and wanted something from the food court. He went over to the wing booth and begin ordering. He hadn't glanced at the menu once, he had already knew what he wanted.

"Ten piece hot wings with a lemonade and fries."

He would've got the twenty piece, but he didn't want to eat too much because he wanted to eat some of Pablo's cooking tonight.

Once he paid, he went and stood on the side and waited for his food to be done. He heard some loud ass females who were laughing and being ghetto which made him pissed because he couldn't stand when a person was loud for no reason, he had heard enough of that when he lived in those good apartments.

"Yes bitch, then he fucked Diamond." The girl laughed.

"Damn, he gone catch some. That hoe got Aids." The other one said.

Raheem's head snapped up. That voice sound familiar. He looked over all of them and when his eyes landed on the last one, he almost passed out. It was Mia. Her skin was glowing, she hadn't changed a bit besides her hair going to the middle of her back with her high cheek bones and nice smile. Nothing was thick about her, her beauty had made up for all of that. She had grew up though.

He admired her for a while then he decided to go speak. He went over to her and the girls. Their faces turned from smiles to a scowl.

"Mia." He said. "Remember me, Raheem?"

Her face had turned into her beautiful smile again. She did remember him because he would compliment her every time he came inside of her old job.

"I remember you." She laughed.

He had grown up and looked ten times better. She would've never gave him the time of the day back then, but she was wishing she would've. He looked like the type with all of the hoes and cash, she could tell because his necklace was shining, his Rolex too.

"Thought you wouldn't." He replied.

"I do, I do. You've grown up and shit, I see you." She joked.

"And you did too. How you been?" He asked.

Mia sighed. She had been horrible. She had four kids with a dead beat dad who wouldn't even get them a burger if she asked. She was not working at the moment so she couldn't provide for them how she wanted. She also lived with someone, her life wasn't how she had planned for it to be. She wouldn't let Raheem know that though although he'd probably feel for her and just drop her a couple stacks which she'd be satisfied with, she wanted to fuck him first. He was too fine for her.

"I've been good, living life. I can tell that life has been good for you because that Rolex is glistening." She laughed

Raheem's attitude changed. He could sense she had became a gold digger which had turned him off. If she thought he would be giving her cash she had another thing coming.

"Yeah, well I got to go." He said.

"No, not before you go here's my number."

He received the piece of napkin with her number on there along with his food. He didn't plan on putting the number to use but he might need her in the future so he pushed the paper inside his pocket. He waved bye to her and left.

Raheem entered his mom's home and planted the bags on her counter before leaving out the door again. He wanted to surprise her and that would do the job, she would come down her stairs and be ecstatic about the gifts. Nine times out of ten she was sleeping, it was nine o'clock and she went to bed early.

Raheem pulled out of her drive-way, heading home and to get ready for his party. He couldn't wait to see how many people had came out and supported him, he hoped more than two hundred. The place Cornell had rented was big enough for ten big ass families and he didn't want to be embarrassed if little people showed up and there was a lot of space left. That would show nobody fucked with him the long way, strong way.
