Chapter 7: Blushing and smiling

Raheem had Kai blushing the whole night. He had confirmed that his age was nineteen and she told him hers also. They found nothing wrong with the one year age difference.

"Happy belated too." Raheem said.

Him and her had had multiple conversations with different topics. They both hadn't got too deep. She had no clue his father died and he didn't plan on letting her know that until they moved to that level, if they moved to that level.

"Thanks." She replied.

He nodded and glanced at his Rolex. He didn't notice they'd been talking for more than a hour. The party had got more packed and he was surprised that no fights had broke out.

Kai remembered her phone being on silent then cursed herself in silent because Diamond had most likely been calling her. She got her phone and begin scrolling through her missed calls and unread messages, they were all from her father who she could careless about, he was too protective for her.

"I'm about to head out." Raheem said.

He had became tired. He had made Kai smile and laugh so he was satisfied. The drive home was over a hour and he didn't want to go home too late, his neighborhood was quiet.

"Leaving already?" She questioned.

"Yeah, I'm tired."

"Guess I'll walk you to your car then." She said.

Kai followed after Raheem. She held onto his shoulder for balance because she was almost pissy drunk and she might have fell.

They squeezed through the crowd and walked out the front. People were standing around and laughing, Raheem had no clue why those people were outside and he didn't care. He moved around them, some of them spoke and some didn't. Once again, he didn't care.
They reached Raheem's car. Kai was stumbling and all, he had to hold her up while he unlocked his door. He sat her in his passenger seat and closed the door, going around to the driver's seat.

"So, do you have a ride home?"

Kai nodded yes. She did have a ride home, but she didn't know where her ride was at the moment, she could picture Diamond on her knees and gargling right then and there which made her mad because Diamond needed to be there to drop her off at her house.

She picked up her phone and dialed Diamond's number which went straight to the voicemail. Kai dialed once more and got them same automated voice system.

Raheem could sense her being a little frustrated because she did an annoying huff with her mouth.

"You aight? I could drop you off at your crib." Raheem said.

Kai declined right from the jump. She had met the man minutes ago and she didn't want to be depending on him this early, or anytime period. Plus her dad would be acting out about a dude bringing her home, she was showing up hours late already.

"I'm fine, she'll be here soon." Kai said.

Her phone vibrated in her hand and she had received a text from Diamond. Before she clicked open, she hoped Diamond was telling her to come on because she was leaving. She opened up the text that displayed:

Diamond: Can you find a ride home? I had something that came up.

Kai had became pissed and she didn't even respond, she just slammed her phone inside her pouch. She grabbed the car handle and proceeded to leave the car until Raheem grabbed her arm. She turned around and faced him with the ugliest look on her face.
