i was sitting on my bed after a long day of hell (school some may call it) when i got a call from my best friend connor.
"hey what's up"
"just wondering if you've checked your phone recently. what are you up to?" connor asked hopeful
"nothing much, just sitting on my bed and taking a break from studying for exams. what about you?"
"i'm actually getting ready for a bonfire with the group. you down to tag along with me?" connor asked hopefully.
"uh i don't know i have to study. maybe next time?"
"no cmon Y/N you need a break from all this stress and have some fun. pleaseeee"
"ugh fine"
"YES PICK YOU UP AT 5 BYE LOVE YOU" connor exclaimed excitedly
"yeah yeah whatever"

*HONK HONK* (HAHA SORRY IDK WHAT TO PUT THERE)
i walked downstairs to meet connor in front
"connor is picking me up and we are going to a little bonfire with my friends love you bye!" i said to my parents. at this point i've pretty much known connor my whole life and my parents trust him with my life so they don't care about me going out late with him.
"hold on young lady, don't you have exams to study for?" my mom said in a warningly way.

"no i'm done for this week" i lie
"okay fine bye love you be back by 12 love you!"
*HONK HONK*
i open the door
"IM COMING IM COMING JESUS"
"hey girll" he says creepily
"hey creep, aux?" i ask hopefully
"ugh fine here" connor said handing me the aux cord.
"thank youuuu" i say taking it

after about a 10 minute drive of carpool karaoke from my house to the beach wasn't far considering we live in Laguna Beach, California, we finally made it to the bonfire.
once we got there everyone was either sitting in their chairs around the fire or playing some games, connor came up to me and Y/BFF/N.
"hey y/n can we talk for a little bit?" connor asked nervously.
"uh yeah is everything okay?" i ask concerned.
"um yeah let's walk over here"
we walk down to the shore and walk in awkward silence until i break it with
"why'd you pull me aside?" i curiously ask
"um promise me we can still be friends after this?" he says worry filling his voice
"yes of course connor whatever you say wont make me not want to be friends with you anymore silly" i chuckle
"y/n i like you, a lot"
"conn-" i start.
"no y/n listen, i like you a lot and i cant keep my feelings about you inside anymore. when you walk into the room my mood instantly rises and my heart beat races. if you don't feel the same way i completely understand. now please say something so i don't lose my fucking mind" he says quickly
"connor i like you a lot too" i say with the biggest smile on my face
"really?!" he smiled big
"oh my god yes connor i've felt this way for the longest time but i was too scared to say anything cause i thought it might ruin our friendship" i say somewhat nervously
"shut up and just kiss me"
he kisses me infront of the sunset and it feels like fireworks are exploding in my stomach right now and i couldn't be more happier.

*few hours later*
now everyone is sitting around the fire with their blankets in their chairs and C/BFF/N strumming cords under the moonlight sky.
"connor i'm tired" i mumble so no one else could hear except connor
"i know we will leave soon i promise, just lay your head on my shoulder and i'll wake you up before we leave" he says softly
"okay" i say drifting off to sleep.

"you like her a lot don't you?" my best friend asks as all eyes turn on me with y/n fallen asleep on my shoulder.
"yeah i like this girl a lot" i blush
"are you gonna ask her to be your girlfriend soon?" y/bff/n asks with a smirk on her face
"yeah actually really soon" i say nervously

all the sudden i feel a hand going through my hair and awakening me from my sleep when i notice connor looking down at me with a smile on his face
"time to go y/n" he says gently and sweet
"okay" i say as i stretch and rub my eyes
we pack up and head to the car with our hands interlocked

connors pov
ugh this is just the best day of my life i think. i really like this girl a lot and i'd do anything to make this girl happy. after about a minute into the car drive i hear y/n yawn.
"go to sleep hun, i'll wake you up when we get back to your house" i say while rubbing my hand on her thigh
"okay" she mumbles sweetly as she leans her head on the passenger side window

i'm awakened by me being in someone's arms bridal style and become confused about where i am and open my eyes wide and notice it's connor
"hey shhh go back to sleep" he says softly
"okay" i sigh resting my head back on his arm next thing i know i'm fallen in a deep sleep after one of the best days i've has in a while.
