finally after months, connor and i can travel with our fairly new baby girl gracelyn. and by travel, i mean places with lots of people and bacteria. we obviously didn't want her being out when she was still a newborn but now we can take her out to explore things. so today, we are taking gracelyn to the beach. connor obviously grew up near the beach and we want to have gracelyn experience something like this.

"you about ready bubba?" i ask connor as he's picking up gracie after changing her outfit. connor has wanted a baby girl since we found out i was pregnant. he's obsessed with picking out clothes for her and we spend way too much money on cute little outfits for her. so today he dressed her in a cute little romper that her 'uncle shawn' got her. shawn is a big part of our life so although none of us our blood related, we wanted shawn to be a big part of her life.

"wow mamas look at you" connor coos while standing her up and bouncing her.

i stand in the kitchen packing some snacks for connor and i and some baby food for gracelyn.

"yeah i'm gonna get her diaper bag" he says putting gracie in her car seat and runs upstairs

we are finally out the door and in the car to the beach.

"wow it's good to be back" connor says taking out his board and diaper bag while i carry a backpack and gracelyn. we find a spot at a beach connor and i used to always go to when we were teenagers.

we set up everything and connor goes straight into the water. we play around for a little and connor comes back. we decide it's time to bring her closer into the ocean. i slip her water shoes on and carry her to shore

"1...2...3!" connor counts as her stands gracie up and holds her hips and the water slowly comes up the shore

"wow mamas you like that?!" connor says enthusiastically as gracie giggles.

we soon go back to our spot and sit and eat our snacks

we spend hours at the beach and it's time for gracelyn to go down for a nap

"want to hit (y/fav restaurant)?" connor asks

"yeah sure" i say

we go and get food like normal and connor is holding gracelyn. i find it adorable how attached he is to her. he's not even paying attention to his food. she's definitely going to be a daddy's girl. i snap a couple pictures and we pay.

"oh my it's nap time" connor says. he's obviously tired because he's been in the sun all day and in the water.

"okay i'm gonna stay down her and clean up for a little, you can take gracelyn upstairs to nap" is say

"are you sure? i can help you later and you can come rest too" he suggests

"no i'll clean up. i won't be able to sleep knowing down here is in this condition" i say and connor laughs and picks up gracelyn to bring her upstairs

45 minutes pass and i'm done. gracie usually takes 2 hour naps so she's probably still asleep. i yawn and walk to connor and i's shared bedroom and see the cutest thing. gracelyn is still awake and buried in connors arms and connor is out like a baby

"aw my babies" i say and snap a quick picture of her smiling

"cmon gracie let's get you to bed" i say. i didn't mean to sleep with her i meant put her in her bed

i set her in her cradle and stay there until she's asleep.

"baby?" connor says as i walk back into the room

"yes bubs?" i ask running my fingers through his long blonde hair

"where did gracie go?" he asks softly

"i put her in her cradle. she was awake when i came in here" i explain

"oh okay" he says

"come cuddle with me" connor says

"okay" i say and cuddle into his chest
