~Time Skip~
The Queen sat on her bed and staring at her pocket watch. It read 7:59, and still she had no idea what "follow the fox" meant. There were no foxes in the sea kingdom, foxes were land animals. Queen Jessica only knew what they were because she was a Queen. Still, she sat waiting, until the watch finally ticked 8 o'clock. On the wall in front of her a mural like image of a majestic fiery red fox with nine tails appeared, staring at her with glistening yellow eyes. She got up, and immediately the fox began to run towards her door, following the wall. The Queen swam after it, going out the door and swimming after it still as it ran up the staircase, went down a hall, and up another staircase, until it stopped and sat down on a door leading out to the highest standing point of the castle, a balcony watching over the entire city. The Queen grasped the handle and pulled it open, being met with the smile of Kye, who was sitting at a two person table on the balcony. He gestured over to the other seat, and she swam there, resting onto the seat and looking up at Kye, into the same glittering yellow eyes that the fox had. She smiles at him nervously. Kye speaks calmly. "I wasn't sure what you'd want to eat, if you did, but anything you want I can supply in a snap of a finger~ just let me know." She says, "Do you want to just talk?" Kye nods. "Anything you want, love. Tell me. What was it like living as a royal?" The Queen says, "It's really stressful. I know this is a horrible thing to say but sometimes I wish I wasn't the queen.." Kye tilts his head, staring directly at her crown. "Is that so... Huh. Well, I've always wanted to be a King. Maybe you could shed some light on what that would really be like maybe see if you can change my mind?" She says in a soft voice, "It's torture.. You don't get to have any fun or go to party's.. You pretty much don't even have friends.." She started to look saddened but continued, "A lot of people will hate you for the decisions you make.. If you do make a wrong decision then it impacts everyone.." She looks away from him slightly. Kye frowns slightly. "Hm.." he stares down at the table for a moment, rethinking his life goal, but not giving the thought much of a chance and simply shaking it out of his head. "It has to be great in other regards though, right? I mean you can't be the ruler of a whole kingdom and not find some good in it!" She continues to look away but says, "There really isn't any good.. Life isn't as good without others to enjoy it with.." Kye looks over, and at the vast city that spanned as far as he could see, confused how ruling such a wonderful place could make anyone unhappy, and how if somebody was unhappy with this, how much worse it might be for him if he was to get the throne. After all, he'd have to kill at least one person he loved. He looks over at her crown once more, feeling a sense of pity, and guilt at the fact that he was lying to her. "Why don't... you resign...?" She looks back at him and says, "I can't do that to my kingdom.. Who would take my place..?" Kye frowns more, knowing that if he took her crown, it would end worse for her than if she simply resigned. He takes a deep breath and changes the subject. "I guess you're right. Anyway! Uh, have you ever met a fox?" She looks a little happy that he changed the subject and says, "No. Have you?" Kye smiles. "Yeah! They're quite amazing creatures. I... much prefer them to fish. Aha.." She smiles a bit and says, "I wish I could meet one." Kye thinks for a moment, and then lights up with a bright smile. "Maybe you could! I- Uh, I know one! From.. the surface! You'd uh... have to travel there, but if you want to meet one.. I'm sure it would be worth it!" She looks surprised and says, "Really? You'd do that?" "Yeah! Of course!" He said. She gets up and swims to his side of the table, kissing him passionately and wrapping her tail around his. His eyes widen and he forces himself not to stumble away, freezing there for a moment before settling and meeting her back. Well that was easy... he thought. She pulls back, smiling, letting go of his tail but staying close to him, pretty much on his lap at this point. He smiles awkwardly at her, going rapidly back and forth on wether or not he should just snag her crown then and there, with how easy it would be in that moment, staring at it as he debated. She leans in on him and nuzzles him softly on the neck. He puts his hand on her back and presses her closer to him, smiling warmly and just enjoying being with her, letting go of the mission. She whispers in his ear, "Even in your condition, you're the most beautiful merman I've ever seen~" She completely rests herself on him carefully. Kye, not used to actually being successful in his flirting, and getting flirted back to like this blushes, but frowns again as he's once again reminding that he's lying to her. He sighs, simply embracing her quietly.
