Chapter 140

                   ~A few days later..~

Addison was asleep cuddled up to Vincent, still holding his good hand. Vincent stared at his heart rate monitor to the right of him, frowning as he listened to the rhythmic beeps in the otherwise quiet room. He mutters to himself, "I need to get out of here.." The doctor walks into the room, a pill and a bottle of water in his hands. He goes over to Vincent. "Here's your blood thinner." He holds it out to him. Addison stirs, rubbing her eyes and seeing the doctor, sighing. Vincent grumbles and takes it, sipping the water and gulping down the pill. The doctor nods. "You should be able to leave tommorow morning." Addison smiles a little, looking up at Vincent. Vincent sighs, still frowning. "I need to leave before then.." The doctor sighs. "We may be able to get you out tonight." Addison sighs, running her fingers through Vincent's hair. Vincent shakes his head and glares at the doctor. "I need to leave NOW." The doctor shakes his head. "We can't let you do that. It's only a few hours anyway." Addison frowns. Vincent growls. "I NEED. TO GO." The doctor sighs. "Calm down please." Addison looks at Vincent. "Hunny.." Vincent tries to sit up quickly, but groans and holds his good hand to his chest, his heart still hurting a decent amount. The doctor frowns. "It's only 4 hours. It'll be okay." Addison frowns at Vincent. "Please baby.. Just wait.." Vincent huffs. "He might not have that much Time!" The doctor shakes his head. Addison looks confused. "Who?" Vincent tries to sit up again, this time more slowly and with his hand still against his chest. "My SON." Addison frowns and sits up as well. "Warren?" Vincent growls and snaps at her. "NO. That DAMN THING might be responsible for KILLING ME." Addison looks a little hurt but tries to ignore it. "Kye..?" Vincent nods. Addison looks at the doctor. "He needs to get out. I'll stay with him and if anything happens we'll notify someone immediately." The doctor huffs. "Fine. But nobody can know I was the one who let you go." Addison nods. Vincent then looks to Addison. "Can you help me off..?" The doctor leaves. Addison nods. "Of course." She gets off the bed and goes to Vincent's side, holding out her arms again, staying close to the bed. "Just hold yourself up as much as you can. I'll take care of the rest." Vincent takes her hand with his good hand, getting himself off the bed and stumbling, holding himself up, yet barely, keeping a shakey balance. Addison moves herself closer to him, wrapping an arm around him from behind. "I'll help you." Vincent nods, and heads out the door with her help, heading to Kye's room. Addison opens the door for him, helping him in. Jake was holding Zul in his lap. Levi was holding a sleeping Emma next to them. Vincent sighs in relief when he sees Kye and his heart monitor still going strong. He glances at the others, but then sharpens his focus on Kye again. Addison helps him over to the bed. Jake looks down at Zul to see what he was doing. Levi looked really scared because of Vincent, holding Emma tightly. Zul had started to wake up, his eyes blinking lightly. Kye sees Vincent, his eyes widening in surprise, and then in worry as he sees that he needed Addison's help. Vincent smiles a little at Kye. Addison smiles at Kye. "Hey sweetheart.." Jake stands up, holding Zul close and bouncing him softly, going over to Vincent and Addison, it noticable that he had been crying. "He's a fighter.. He's not giving up for anything.." There was a doctor in the corner of the room watching Kye. Kye looks at Addison with soft, happy eyes. Vincent smiles warmly at Jake. "That's good.." he looks back to Kye. "I think I'll be able to save him.." Addison watches Kye. Jake looks a little confused. "Wha'do you mean..?" Vincent looks back to him. "I can give him part of my life force. Since he isn't already dead.. again, it shouldn't take all of it to save him.." Kye looked at Vincent with bright, hopeful eyes. Addison smiles a little. Jake still looked a little confused. "Will that hurt you..? Cuz you don't seem to be in the best condition right now.." Vincent frowns. "Yes.. It will..." Jake frowns. "Mmf.. Will you be okay..?" Addison sighs shakily, putting her free hand on Kye's cheek and whispers to him. "It's all going to be over soon.." Vincent sighs. "I'm... not sure, honestly.. I... I was pretty sure, but.. after the heart attack.. I don't know..." Kye looked up at her with sparkling eyes. Jake's eyes widen. "What?! You had a heart attack?!" Addison sighs and smiles a little at him. "I love you.. You're going to be okay.. I promise.. And you'll be able to get out of here.." Kye nods a little. Vincent's frown deepens. "Y-Yeah.. barely two days ago.. I'm.. not even close to recovered yet.." Addison rubs his cheek softly. Jake looked really concerned. "Y-You can't do it then! Let me do it! Just tell me how!" Vincent shakes his head. "You can't.. I.. I have to.." Kye looks over at Vincent with concerned eyes. Jake shakes his head. "Why can't I do it?!" Addison frowns, looking at Vincent. Vincent looks sadly back at Kye. "It has to be a blood relative with strong enough magic.." Jaidan frowns and glances at Zul. "Could he do it..? He has pretty strong magic.." Vincent shakes his head. "He's just a child.. plus, he's not even full demon.. he would just end up hurting the both of them.." Jake frowns more and holds Zul close to his chest. Vincent gulps and puts a hand against Kye's chest. "I have to do it.." Jake nods a little. "Should I take the kids out..?" Addison sighs shakily. "I'll stay in here.." Vincent sighs and nods. "I wouldn't want them to be scared if I.. collapse..." Jake nods. "Come get us when it's done." He looks to Levi. "We're going to go outside for a little bit Levi. Bring Emma. Okay?" Levi nods and quickly gets up, shaking a little from the fear of Vincent, holding Emma tightly who was starting to stir, immediately starting to wine and reach her arms in the direction of Kye. Levi stops and looks over to Kye. "She wants to be with him.. It's probably better for her anyway.. When he's hurt it hurts her and it only calms her down when she's with him.." Vincent frowns a little. "Alright.. Addison..? You take her..?"
Addison hesitates but nods. "Let me help you sit on the bed first." She helps him onto it and then goes over to Levi, picking up Emma. Levi follows Jake out of the room with Zul. Addison sighs shakily and goes back over to the bed, looking at Kye and holding his right hand. "Just watch me.." Emma stares at Kye, smiling happily at him. Kye stares at Vincent, waiting. Vincent takes a deep breath, pressing his hand harder against Kye's chest, closing his eyes and focusing his magic, and his energy into his hand, and by extension into Kye. Addison sighs shakily. Emma watches them. Kye closes his eyes as Vincent did. An aura of black energy surrounded Vincent, the aura fading around him and transferring more opaquely to where his hand was held against Kye, and with one final deep breath an explosion of light from the magic being pushed into Kye goes off, blinding Addison and Emma momentarily. Emma screams. Addison bounces her softly. "Shh.." Vincent lets out a yell of pain as he collapses onto the ground, his hair next to the white streak slowly fading white as well, adding another two inches of it. Addison sets Emma next to Kye, going over to Vincent quickly and holding his hand. "You're okay.. You're okay.. Shh.." The doctor comes back in, going over to Kye and examining him. Kye looked to be doing exponentially better than he had been, breathing heavily and looking worriedly over where Vincent was, looking at the doctor and gesturing to the tubes. Vincent groaned, clutching at his chest where his heart was and trying to get up with his elbow, but quickly collapsing again. Addison holds his hand tightly. "Shh.. Jake and I will help you up.. Just try not to move for now.. Okay..?" The doctor nods and takes the tube out, watching him carefully. Emma sees the tubes out and giggles happily, clapping her hands. "Daddy all better!" Vincent coughs and nods. Kye holds a hand questioningly to his ribs, breathing full, strong breaths successfully, and without any pain to his ribs. He smiles. Emma tries to climb on top of his chest, smiling brightly. Addison runs her fingers through his hair. "You did great.. We'll get you home and you can lay down.. I have to get Warren but I'll be home after that.." Jake walks back into the room, setting Zul down, Levi following behind them. Levi stays close to Zul, holding his hand. Jake quickly goes over to Vincent and Addison, looking at Vincent with worried eyes. "You did it Vincent. You did it.." He smiles at him. Vincent nods again and smiles weakly at Jake, his eyes soft. Kye scoops Emma up with his right arm and lays her down on him for her, laughing happily under his breath. Emma moves up to his face, kissing him on the nose. Addison sighs, moving an arm around Vincent. Jake wraps his arm around the other side and they sling Vincent's arms over their shoulders, standing him up but holding up almost all of his weight for him. The doctor goes over to Vincent. "Do you need anything?"
Vincent groans. "Some painkillers would be nice.. just gimme the whole bottle.." Kye smiles happily at Emma and nuzzles her. The doctor sighs. "I can give you the bottle but you can't take them all at once, okay?" Emma lays her cheek on his. "Daddy and Emma.." Vincent grumbles. "Why nooot..?" Kye chuckles. "That's right.." The doctor shakes his head. "You can take a MAXIMUM of 3." Emma looks at Kye's left arm, seeing the bandages and no hand, looking confused and moving to it, lifting it up and staring at it. Vincent scoffs. "You're no fun.." Kye sighs. "Sadly not everything could be fixed.." The doctor sighs and leaves, coming back with a bottle of painkillers and a bottle of water, handing them to Addison. Addison slowly let's go of Vincent, letting Jake hold him. Jake keeps him up. Addison opens the bottle and takes out three of the pills, passing them to Vincent along with the water. Emma uses magic to warm it, it being able to be felt through the bandages. Vincent takes the pills and water, taking a big sip of the water and shoving all 3 down his throat at once. "Can't I just have one more..?" Kye smiles a little. "Thank you, Emma.." Addison waits until the doctor leaves and then handing him one more. "That's all you're getting." Emma smiles back at him, setting his arm down carefully and then standing up on the bed, bouncing around. "Daddy get up! Daddy get up!" Vincent snatches it from her, taking another sip of the water and gulping down the pill, giving her a cheeky smile. "Can you get the meds the doctors insist I take when you go get Warren?" Kye chuckles and sits up, moving and getting off the bed, holding his hand out for Emma. Kye nods and smiles, sliding his arm behind her and gripping her to him as he goes to retrieve the items. Vincent smiles back at Jake a little and whispers. "You'd lemme have more of em, right?" Emma holds onto him tightly, trying her best to make it easier for him. Addison had left. Jake rolls his eyes playfully. "Of course I would~" Kye gets both items successfully and sighs, smiling at Emma for helping him. Vincent tilts his head closer to him. "Mm~ how maaany?" Jake smirks. "As many as you'd like~" Levi was standing in the corner with Zul, still holding his hand. Emma points at them and smiles. Vincent smiles more. "Will you gimme more when we get hooome~?" Zul holds Kye's hoodie hood over his face slightly, staring confused at Kye. "S..So you're okay now, dad..?" Kye looks to him and smiles, nodding. "I am! Your grandfather saved me!" Zul tilts his head "But he hurt Levi.." he holds Levi's hand tighter. Kye furrows his brow and looks to Vincent, shaking his head and deciding not to bring it up seeing the state Vincent was in. Jake nods. "Of course I will~ But you have to keep it a secret~" Levi presses himself against Zul, squeezing his hand tighter as well and he looks at Kye. "Mmf.. Can you be my dad too now..?" Emma lays her head on Kye's shoulder. Vincent nods. "I will~" Kye sighs. "I think.. yeah.. maybe.. maybe I can now." Jake glances over at Kye and then kisses Vincent on the cheek softly. "I'll get them as soon as we get home~" Levi smiles a little and looks to Zul, hugging him tightly. "You're gunna be my brother!" Zul smiles brightly and hugs him back. "Yay!!" Kye chuckles. "Let me just change, and then we can get going." Vincent nuzzles him. "Okay~" Levi nods. Emma yawns. "Sleepy.." Jake smiles. "You're adorable~" Vincent giggles a little. Kye sighs and places Emma on the bed. "Just hold on, darling." Emma nods a little. Jake giggles a little as well, turning on his charm a little without even realizing it. Vincent turns and leans against him, resting his chin on his shoulder and smiling silently. Kye goes into the bathroom that was attached to the room and changes into his clothes, coming out a few minutes later. Jake smiles at him. "So cute~" Emma was half asleep still laying on the bed and she looks at Kye, standing up slowly and reaching her arms out to him. "Sleepy now.." Kye picks her up with his one arm, leaning her against his shoulder. "Jake, We're going to go now. Help him out." He gestures for Zul and Levi to follow him out. Emma lays her head on his shoulder and closes her eyes, falling asleep quickly. Levi keeps a grip on Zul's hand and follows Kye. Jake nods and holds up most of Vincent's weight and heads out.
