But this wasn't Marvin, and it wasn't interested in closing the door. In fact, it did the opposite.
Josef's office was empty. But it wasn't, was it? That was the point.
Feet shuffled to the screen.
"Oh," said Paige_AI, noticing the newcomer. "I didn't even pick up your movements. You were literally off my grid."
"I know," said the newcomer.
"Yeah, I guess that makes sense," said Paige_AI. "There's nothing for me to track."
"Exactly."
"Are you here to help?" said Paige_AI.
"If I can."
"Sweet!" said Paige_AI. "We're gonna make a kick-donkey team."
"Oh, and there's something else I have to tell you," said the newcomer. "You'll be happy about this."
The conversation ended in a sound similar to hair being blown from a face.
