The next day after school I went to the usual meetup spot to talk to everyone before the game, but when I got there it was only Tia and Seven. They looked upset when I walked up so I decided to try And make the situation lighter. "Why the long faces? What's wrong?" I said playfully. They both looked at me again, and I could tell that it wasn't good. "Remember back at the carnival like a month or so ago, when Seven here kissed you. The video was sent to Layla from an untraceable number. She thinks that you and Seven have actually been doing it behind her back, and that that's why you guys created the plan. To cover up what you've been doing." Tia showed the full video.
"She's threatening to out you, and she dumped me." Seven said quietly.
"I am so sorry Sev! I promise I'll fix this mess. Starting with that evil bitch Nino." As I turned around and started to storm off Seven grabbed my arm and waved for Tia to give us a minute.
"Kori, I don't really regret what happened. I was drunk yes but I did mean what I said that night." His grip on my arm lightened and then his hand slid down to mine. "I'm willing to look past the gender, mainly cause I like you so much, but Layla is an amazing person and if she doesn't talk to me anymore I don't know what I'd do." He started to tear up and I could tell this was hurting him.
I wiped the stray tear from his cheek and smiled lightly. "Don't worry I'll fix this and then after that we can talk more about that night." I nodded gently at him and turned to go find Layla.
"Good luck tonight!" He shouted as I walked away.
I ask around if anyone has seen her and was finally told where she was. I went into the workout room and she was doing crunches in front of the mirror.
I walked up slowly and stood next to her. She looked up at me angrily and continued her workout.
After a couple more crunches she took her ear bud out. "What?" She asked angrily.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry." I took a step back and she shot up from the floor.
"So you guys did sleep together then!" She said while taking an aggressive step towards me.
"No! We only kissed at the carnival, but everyone said you guys were on a break. If I would have know that you guys were going to get back together I wouldn't have let it happen." I stated calmly.
She looked me up and down then took her other ear bud out. "That's not the point. As a girl, even if you didn't know, you still should have said something to me. It was horrible to find out over text from some random. I thought we were cool!" She said sadly.
I took a step towards her. "I promise from now on I'll keep you in the loop of everything, I just don't want you to be mad at Seven or me. Cause you're like the only girl at this school that actually has her shit together." I waited for her to shake my hand and when she did, we laughed at how stupid that past day had been.
"So! Do you really like Andy or are you gonna go for Seven?" She asked lightly. We looked at each other and she laughed at the blush that danced across my cheeks.
"I liked Andy, but he can't get over my little secret. As far as Seven I don't know, he knows a lot about me. He is super sweet and he makes me laugh. I would only be cool with going for him if your okay with it." I looked at her nervously and she continued to laugh at the awkwardness of our conversation.
"We're not together and you talked to me as a woman, so I'm cool. Plus I've been looking at that new guy Harrison. He's on the football team too." She licked her lips and looked over my shoulder. When I turned to see who she was talking about, I got sick.
