The truth in Ferris Wheels

As we got onto the Ferris Wheel, I could tell he was upset, but even more I knew he could feel my anxiousness, and skepticism. He waited till we were further up before he relaxed.

"Back in sophomore year, I asked Nino's friend Vallarie if she would come to the camping trip with me. Vall was excited that entire week but I was nervous because everyone kept telling me it's where almost every guy would get laid. Especially if your on one of the schools best athletic teams. I was nervous because I was a virgin. I didn't tell the boys that, and I didn't tell her that." He sighed and looked up at me with tearful eyes.

"I had everyone telling me I was the man, Vall was pretty and popular and a whole grade above me. It was exciting to be going with the coolest person at the school. We got there and it was bright and fun and one of the best things I was experiencing at that time. We had so much fun. What was even better was that Vall seemed to really like me." He stopped and smiled a bit remember how amazing the night had started.

             "So, what happened! How did this whole Nino thing end up happening." I didn't want to force him or make him hurry but I was curious.

He took another deep breath before he moved to my side of the cart and put his head down. "Vall was flirting with me all night and we were kissing and really getting in the mood. She told me to meet her at her tent, but to give her a minute cause she had to go do something.
         While I was waiting one of my older friends back then gave me a cup, he told me drink it and I'll have the best sex of my life and it will blow her away.  Being young and dumb I drank it and started to get fuzzy. I didn't know that Vall and Nino we're sharing a tent" his breathing got shaky and I saw a tear drop to the floor.

           "I heard rustling inside the tent and thought it was her, so I unzipped it and went in. I laid down next to Nino and wrapped my arm around her. She nuzzled in and moaned so I thought it was Vall, I slid my hand under her blanket and into her underwear. She said Vall's name and when I realized it was Nino I jumped up and left.
             She saw it was me and started to yell. I couldn't see and everything was getting blurrier, I went to my friends tent and he had Vall inside on her back he was just starting to do her when I pulled him off he zipped his pants up and ran." Andy started to cry a little more and I felt terrible.

"I'm a terrible person" I thought to myself. "He would be having a good time with his friends if I weren't so nervous and pushy."

He took another deep breath to try and put himself back together a bit before he continued.

             "Nino followed me to my friends tent but only saw me putting her clothes back on. Nino left and I laid next to Vall in my friends tent so that she wouldn't be alone or scared when she woke up, but she didn't wake up. She never woke up.
              I called the police when I realized she wasn't breathing but Nino told them that she saw me putting her clothes back on her, and that I touched her in the other tent." His tears were contagious, I felt his emotions so intensely that it hurt.

I didn't realize that there were tears running down my face. "Hey, you don't have to continue. I'm sorry. I should have just listened and trusted what I was told." I pulled him towards me and let him cry.

We were getting closer to the bottom to be let off the ride but he was still crying so I lifted his head and kissed his lips softly. "I'm sorry for making you relive that. I promise I won't ever ask about it again." I wiped his face and hugged him as tight as I could, and when we pulled apart the conductor opened the door to let us out.

"Everything about this just hurt! Plain and simple. I could've ignored her, I could've shown that words hurt just as much. Instead I let her words stop me from doing something that I promised myself I would do." We stepped off the ride and started to walk back to the campsite. Andrew was definitely more relaxed, but he did seem a little in his head.

"Hey will you make me another cranberry vodka?" I nudged him while I was speaking to knock him out of his mental dive, and it worked a little. He looked at me with his signature half smile smirk, but I could tell he wasn't quite back to himself.

"I got you! I'll make it sweet this time." He went over to the alcohol table and as he started making my drink one of his friends came over to him. They talked for a second and whatever it was about cheered him up. "Here ya go."

                " You're a lot happier, what happened over there? I slowly grabbed the cup and took a small sip.

He smiled nervously, before he spoke. "My buddy just reminded me of something that happened a while ago. Can I ask you something?, and feel free to say no, but I'll probably ask again. He licked his bottom lip in a seductive way, and I couldn't help but to smile.

"You know, for someone that's still a virgin, you're a seductive ass guy. Do you talk to all your female friends like this?" I looked him up and down as he grabbed my hand.

"No! I haven't talked to any girls the way I've talked to you Kori! I mean ever since swimming on Monday. I can't really get you outta my head." His eyes changed, and I could tell his energy was shifting so I created some distance just to see what he's up to, but to also let him know he isn't going to get me that easily.

                 "Ask away! I said softly. His face turned a little red and the calm cool guy look he had faults red a bit.

                 "I wanna take you out on a date sometime, would you be down for that?" His question came out more like a statement and I didn't really have an answer yet so Andy and I just walked back towards the group of slightly intoxicated teens. Some of them stared at us, and I thought that it was because we were laughing and having a good time. Whatever the reason, I know that they started to create images in their heads.
