"It was cold and raining when my parents frantically packed the moving truck! I was only 12 years old, I didn't know what it was about or why. I just knew that they were scared so I was scared too.
I mean I get it when a parent is worried for their child's safety, they'll go to any lengths to make sure their child is okay! Which is why I was up at 3 am. and my parents were shuffling around the house arguing and slamming doors."

"So.. Kori'Ander how do you think that effected you? Would you say that, that night shaped who you are?" Natalie asked pushing her glasses up on her face.

"No, everything had an effect. Mine just made it harder to focus on my growth instead of my insecurities."

"Would you say your better at focusing on your growth?" She said writing down a note then looking back up at me.

"I would say that throughout the years I've become better, but everyone gets better as they get older! So I wouldn't know exactly how to measure my growth."

"So, how do you feel about moving back to the place where your parents felt concerned for your safety?"

"You know I feel good about it! I'll finally see my old friend."

"Do you think that he, or they might have changed maybe won't recognize the new you?"

"I don't know! Part of me wants all of them to but the other part of me doesn't! I'm scared that some of them might not accept me for who I am!"

"Why? Your a beautiful young lady, there is no reason to be scared of who you are!"

My mom walked in to signal that it was time to go and I couldn't have been any happier to get out of that therapy couch. I stood up and shook her hand then turned and headed towards the door.

"Kori'Ander! I will be calling every two weeks to check up on you! Please be safe."

"I will!" I walked back and gave her a hug, and smiled lightly before completely leaving. It's weird that I won't be actually seeing a therapist anymore.

The drive to our house was long and quiet. I didn't know if my mom was happy or not and it made me worry! Not knowing if she is okay is worrying me. We're hours away from being back in our old town and I think it's making her upset.

"Mom?" I said slowly turning my head from the window to her.

"I'm alright, just trying to make sure everything is okay before we go!" She quickly looked at me with a fake smile and then back to the road.

"Mom, it's okay to be scared! I'm a little scared myself. There is a plus side to this though." I said slightly enthused.

"Oh yeah? What's that?" She said letting a real smile slide through her fear.

"I'm alot older and wiser now, you won't have to fear for my safety! I can handle myself, thanks to the boxing lessons." I exclaimed trying to convince myself just as much as her.

"I..... ugh.." she said and the smile drop from her flawless face.

"Is that what you're scared of? Mom,... I really can handle myself, and I won't ever hesitate to call you if I need help. Also it's not like I'm moving out. I'll see you everyday!"

"I know......... yeah! I know. It's just your dad leaving last year and the move , well really just everything. I think it's going to be great!" She looked at me completely and smiled her comforting smile. A wave of reassurance rushed over me, and I was ready to handle anything as long as I had my rock.

It didn't take long for us to get everything packed into the truck and on the road! We drove for what seemed like forever, when really it was like the last 2 hours of our 14 hour drive, and we stopped
so it felt longer. I could tell my mom was getting more and more nervous the closer we got to Cheyenne. Sadly I was too.

I hadn't thought about school and having to make new friends and explaining why I have "C" cup boobs and have to use the men's restroom. I didn't really think about anything, other than seeing my old friends. All I have to think about right now, is being strong for my mom so she can be strong for herself.

"We're back in Cheyenne hun! Are you hungry?" She looked at me beaming with nervousness. I didn't want to stop and get food, it's been a rough day and I'm ready to just lay down. Mom used the money we got from selling our house in Calabasas to buy this house in Cheyenne and to get it furnished, plus money for gas and food.

"We have to go and get groceries tomorrow, and pick out new bed sets and curtains, you have your own bathroom isn't that excited Kori? She continued to fake her enthusiastic smile and it was slowly making this dull and un-exciting.

"Mom, please stop I can tell your stressing out about this move! I get that there is a bunch of things that we haven't factored in yet, but we will make it just like we have been since dad passed.

"I know, and I'm sorry that I'm ruining this entire situation, I just want your transition, our transition, and........"she sighed before continuing. "and everything else to go smoothly. I'll try to relax a little more." She put on her signal and we started to exit the highway.

As we drove past the houses centered more down town, all of the kids I saw looked somewhat like my friends back in Calabasas. Same clothing style some on skateboards, other walking by themselves and others who were just out for a jog. It was comforting to see and know that not a whole lot is gonna be different.

We started to come to a slow after we got through downtown. When mom pulled the car into the parking lot of a beautiful Modern Home, I couldn't believe it. It was just as beautiful as the one in Calabasas, but greener and not as big. It was exciting.

I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of the car staring at house. Mom called my name a couple times before I finally snapped out of my haze and started pulling our boxes from the back of the truck.

"Well I'm back Cheyenne!"
