Meribella's POV:

"Do we tell her?"

"No. We can't, not yet at least. If she doesn't remember, then let's keep it that way."

"Dad?" I croaked.
Oh god, my voice sounded horrible.
I could hear shuffling, then hands, touching me and grabbing my hands with theirs.
Someone was touching my forehead, felt like mom, her hands were always so soft.

"Oh baby how are you feeling?"
Yup that was mom. Literally the gold standard for moms.

"How is your head? Are you feeling okay? Any pain?" And then there's dad, the worried one. He was always the one to want to take me to run tests for a tiny paper cut. Just to 'make sure' I'm not infected or more damaged than to the naked eye.

"I-I'm okay..." opening my eyes was harder than I thought it'd be. The lights were absolutely blinding, pretty much the main reason I was having a difficult time.
"What happened?"
The last thing I can remember was seeing a cat.
Wait, Cat?
We don't have a cat.
Wait, Murph. It was Mr.Delmars cat..
MR.DELMAR!

"You were at the sandw-"

"Oh my god!! Is he okay? Is Mr.Delmar okay?" I shot up immediately and sprung up from my bed.
How'd I get in my bed?
I looked around some more to recognize that I was in my own house.

"He's okay, honey I think you should stay home for today. You had a traumatic experience, you should lie down."

That was the opposite of what I wanted to do. I wanted to go run a marathon or something. I felt so energetic, more than I've ever felt before and it felt amazing.
"No, I need to go to school. But I'll see you both later."

I tried to walk away but dad stopped me by the shoulders.
"Woah kid, I get that you love your education but don't push it too much."

I looked up at him
"Dad, I'm fine, honestly. I get it, it was scary for you guys to get word that I was in an accident. But honestly, I feel perfect. Nothing feels wrong, or sore in any way... wait, how did you guys get word of me being here?" I eyed them carefully. There is no way anyone could have called them. Even if I was checked into a hospital, it would show that both of my parents, but 'out of town' .

"Spider-man swooped in to save you and Mr.Delmar." Mom smiled.

"Okay? That still doesn't tell me how you two were notified."

Dad cleared his throat while mom eyed him with the it's-your-turn look.
"Uh, Spider-man told us."

I'm confused, how would Spider-man know they are my parents? Unless...
"You've been working with Spider-Man this whole time and haven't told me!!!" I yelled.

"We Uhh, we just didn't want you to want to get to know him. His identity is very personal to him, and he likes to be kept hidden no matter who wants to know."

"But I know everyone's identity." I narrowed my eyes to him and began to slowly make my way towards him. He looked nervous, and he never looks nervous. I could see beads of sweat forming at the top of his forehead.

He cleared his throat again, loosening his collar.
"Well, sorry." And that was it before he scurried out of my bedroom and shut the door behind him like a child.

I heard chuckling from behind me and turned around.
"Some things never change." Mom mumbled to herself. She looked up at me with a smile and clapped her hands together.
"Well, you better get ready if you don't want to miss all day of school. It's already 9:57."

Inside, I was jumping up and down that she actually was letting me go to school.
"Don't want to keep that friend of yours waiting.." she smirked.
