Dad and mom had officially moved over to the compound, Happy was still here of course, he was finishing up all the packing arrangements for Stark Tower. And so far the week has been pretty awesome. I've hung out with Peter of course, while he practically drooled over Liz.
I joined the Decathlon team, they put me in first line since I had gotten literally all of their questions right. Peter even thought that I should be the knew team captain. Which would be pretty awesome actually, but I didn't go for it. It's good to lay low for my first year.I've finally met MJ. She is super cool and her and I have definitely gotten closer. Or, closer than she is with Peter and Ned that is. They think she's kinda weird.
Being alone at the house has been, well, lonely. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still have grace, and I've been having a lot of fun with her. But normally Nat, or Sam, Wanda, somebody is walking around and keeping me company, or we all go down and train.
This is now my second week of school, and I've already finished all of my homework. For this school week and next. Plus I've already done all of the extra credit, there's nothing more I can do.
I haven't been able to get out of the house at all though."Grace, how far away is Mr.Delmars sandwich shop?"
"It is about a 20 minute drive, would you like for me to get the car ready?"
Hmmmm.... Peter has mentioned how making those sandwiches are, and how often he goes. And I didn't have any plans for dinner, so...
"Yes."~~~~~~~
The bell on the door jingled as I walked into the shop, it wasn't big at all, and kinda cluttered, but in a cool, original kind of way.
I looked at the menu and instantly knew what I was going to get.
Walking up to the cashier, I saw an older looking man, maybe late 40's, had fluffy brown/ grey hair with a beard.
"Hello Ma'm, How are you?" He smiled at me, he had a certain way to his voice, but I couldn't tell if it was a type of slang or accent."Hi, I'm really good, what about you?"
I know it's something they always just ask you to be polite, but I always feel bad if I don't answer and ignore their question. And answering their question while not asking them that same question is just rude."Well I am doing very good thank you for asking, I'm Mr.Delmar." He said, reaching a hand out that I gladly took into mine to shake.
"I'm Meribella Foster. And This is your shop? It's amazing." I smiled, admiring the whole vibe of the shop.
His pearly whites were shining as he gave me a wide smile. "I like you, you'll have to stop by from now on. This your first time here?"
"Actually yes, it is, I kinda just moved into the neighborhood, heard that this was the best sandwich shop in Queens."
"Well you're right about that. Your order is on the house, welcome to the neighborhood Ms.Foster, so what can I get for you tonight honey?"
"Can I get a number five with pickles? And would you be able to smush it down flat please?"
I know, strange order, but I am a firm believer that the bread tastes better on a sandwich well it's flatter. If it's too fluffy, then I'm hardly able to get a bite in.Mr.Delmar chuckled to himself and then just started to laugh.
"What's so funny huh?" I teased"Oh nothing, you just have the exact same order as another kid that always comes in here. Let me guess, you'd like some of these gummies as well."
I gave him a curious gaze with narrowed eyes.
"How'd you know that? Are you a psychic?"His hearty laugh instantly gave the rest of my school week the best luck ever.
"You're just like Parker..." he mumbled, punching in my order into the cash register."Did you say Par-"
"Oh my god." Mr.Delmars entire vibe changed drastically as his gaze was focused on something in the distance.
"Mr.Delmar?" I asked quietly
"What's wrong?""Stay in here sweetie, I need to call the cops."
My eyes widened at his words, turning around, I looked through the window and saw movement in a bank across the street. I moved over to the window and pushed my face against the glass, cupping my hands around my eyes like a pair of binoculars.
It looked like Spider-man, fighting the Avengers.
Now, I'd totally be fangirling right now because I've always wanted to meet Spider-man but haven't been able too... yet.
But, it's only a group of people wearing stupid, dollar tree store bought avengers masks that look absolutely nothing like the real superheroes.
The Nerve of those people."Yeah, hi. I'm Mr.Delmar from the sandwich shop. And spider-man is fighting the avengers in a bank across the street."
He soon hung up the phone and ran to the front to lock the door.
"Alright, Uhh, come over here and get behind the Stan. Duck down really low and stay there, I'm going to get the guys in the back."I nodded at him and walked behind the cashiers stand and ducked down low.
I could hear distant banging and explosions, but then I heard a "meow"
I immediately popped my head up from behind the counter and saw a cat walking on one of the shelves.
I looked over at the bank across the street and saw that things were looking dicy, and they were doing more attempts to try and shoot Spider-man with whatever they could."Nuh uh, no you don't." I spoke out loud, jumping over the counter and quickly grabbing ahold of the cat. I turned around but heard the loudest bang ever, I knew what was coming sadly, so I threw the cat over and behind the counter and tried to take whatever cover I could, but felt the most pain I've ever felt before as a fire-blast practically shot me against the wall...
Then everything was dark...
