WE SAT FOR AWHILE, THE POPCORN LONG GONE AS WE LET THE BAG SLOWLY FLOAT TO THE GROUND. It was peaceful and comfortable in the moonlight, where the only sound was the wind blowing. That, of course, was soon ruined by a prepubescent yet deep gamer voice.
"So? Why you out here?" Shinbro asks, giving a lazy side glance. I looked up from my hanging shoes, looking out onto the distance, where the city lights beamed brightly and reminded me of the stars. I gave a lazy shrug, only just noticing my untied shoelaces.
"You... have such an awesome quirk, Shinbröther. Really." I say absently, looking at the tired individual, who seemed shock by my statement.
"R-Really? Well, thank you. I... really appreciate it." He mumbles softly, glancing away from my gaze as he stared out into the distance. Giving a sigh, he combed a hand through his unruly hair. "There's something up with you, but I don't know what." He paused, looking back to me again. "So tell me. I'm here to listen to anything you have to say." He gives a smile, which seemed to have more effort put into it then his last.
"I just- fuck, how can I explain this?" I huffed, laying back onto the cold concrete of the roof, staring up at an infinite sky of dazzling stars. "You... you ever just wish you had a different quirk?" It felt as though I was talking to nothing in particular, but I knew he was there.
"I mean, sometimes." He replies quietly, leaning back to lay down besides me, out legs hanging off the edge together. I felt warmth radiant from him, noticing how much closer he was now.
"It may sound dumb, but I don't care. My quirk combination has to be one of the worst in history, I swear." I let out a small chuckle, listening to the silence around us, and then the faint noises of the city a couple miles away. "For example, I can't sleep. Haven't been able to since I was a young'n. That's my energy quirk clashing with my super speed, which, mind you, makes my mind race at a million miles per hour." Another soft chuckle.
"How... do you deal with it then?" He hesitantly asks, as if nervous. I shook my head, exhaling a breathe.
"Normally, I either train, take pills, study or spend my night sifting through crack on my phone." I shifted my arms, folding them both under my head. "And then, I usually come up here, or, anywhere really to see the sun rise." I turned my head, seeing the male beside me gazing intently at me already, his expression as stone; serious.
"What happens when you try to sleep?" He asks, his voice more firmer this time, the question coming out more confident. I shrugged, giving a small smile.
"Well, you see. When I close my eyes-" on cue, I closed my eyes, "-I can see the outline of anything that has energy." Right now, I saw every detail of Shinsou beaming a darkened forrest green, his eyebrow slanted in a questioning gesture as the edge of his lips were formed into a frown. I opened them again, the world forming back into the dull black and white I know it to be. I sighed, turning my head back to the sky, shoulders sagging as my arms slumped.
