Wanna dance?

Macy's POV:
"Macy if don't get up this instant I will throw cold water on you and I am damn serious" someone shouts in my ear. I just shift on the bed showing them my five fingers.. "what the actual hell is she trying to tell us?" Another voice asks, I roll my eyes internally that these two idiots still don't know the meaning of five minutes of extra sleep.

So I just slowly open my eyes trying to adjust to the bright sunlight from my window, when I finally get my vision back I look beside me only to find Dan sitting next to my head and Becca standing near him I give them a smile and stretch my arms, "wow you really wake up like a princess" I hear Dan saying more to himself but I hear it anyway since he is practically sitting on my pillow, I move closer to him and pull his shirt forward so that he scoots to my level and I whisper in his ear "because I am a princess" ,"gosh guys..! If you both are done with your cheesy comments can we do something productive today?" Rebecca says clearly irritated.

I nod my head and head towards my washroom to freshen up, when I come out I see both Dan and Becca in the living room with coffee mugs in their hands, Dan hands me one and tells me to sit beside him, I comply and sit beside him and put my legs on his lap he clearly didn't expect that because he has a shock expression on his face I just pull his cheek and wink at him he shakes his head and continues to drink his coffee.. "I will go crazy if I sit in this apartment for another day" Becca says dramatically, I suddenly get an idea and say "okay then why don't we all go to Dan's home? And do something?"

I see Dan stiffen and he has a hard expression on his face, I seriously don't know what his problem is because after the talk with my father Dan never brought the topic of his house nor anything else.. I really wanted to Know him more but I really couldn't force him to tell me anything right?. Becca clears her throat and breaks the tension in the room " I have a better plan than that.. may I?" She asks we nod our heads silently and listen to what she has to say, "so we really didn't attend any of the days in the fest the college conducted for us. And Tonight is the last day before our classes start so why don't we go to the dance night today?" I shake my head in denial and say "no, I am not going.. I really don't have any interest to dance and I have no gowns or dresses to wear" , "oh come on Macy.. don't be a party pooper, you know we can go for shopping right? Please say yes?" She gives me this irresistible dog eyes so I just sigh and agree with her.

She starts to jump around and runs towards her room and starts to get ready.. God this women! I see that Dan still has a hard expression on his face, "I'm sorry Dan, I really don't want to force you to tell me about your past or your problems. But please remember that I am always there for you" I tell him genuinely, "it's not you Macy.. don't worry I'm fine.. I have been  stressed out lately and thank you so much for understanding me" , "anytime Dan " I say and start walking towards my room to change.

"Hey Macy.. you know right the same implies to you?" , I look over at him and nod my head.

Soon.... I think to myself. I really don't want to spoil Tonight by telling my past to them.

"So the theme is glitter" Becca says searching for my perfect dress, I give her a weird look and say "seriously? Glitter didn't they find something better?" We have been searching for my dress since an hour as I have lot of specifications for my dress..

All the dresses Dan or Becca choose were either too revealing or I was looking like a grandma in them.. "okay this is the last one you are trying Macy if you don't accept this one you will be coming in your bath robe tonight" Dan says shoving a beautiful sliver golden dress to me, I roll my eyes and head towards the changing room. I wear the dress and I instantly love it.. it's soft and simple but also does justice to the theme of tonight's dance. It has a huge slit on my left leg though. But I think it looks sexy.

I excitedly go out and show them the dress, I hear Dan Taking a deep breath and saying "dear God!" , Becca squeals and says it's perfect!! I smile at her and look at Dan to ask what he has to say but he just looks at me in dase.. it's not the look of lust or something it's something else.. I don't know I couldn't really figure out. I snap my fingers in front of his eyes "yeah.. it's perfect Macy you look stunning, you should take this one" he says now recovered from his thoughts he had earlier.

I nod my head and change and we pay our bills, Becca and I go to our apartment and Dan goes to his to get ready for tonight. We had almost 4 more hours to get to the dance night so I decide to surf on Netflix for sometime.

"Macy, can you please move your ass from the couch and start getting ready? We have only an hour left to get to the party" I hear Becca screaming, "fine women" I yell back and head to shower and quickly get ready for tonight..

I hear a knock on my door. So I head towards it and open it and I almost choke on my saliva looking at Rebecca's dress.. woah!! Not what I expected. She wriggles her eyebrows and asks me "so? What do you think?" , "You will definitely get laid" I say and walk towards Dan , I hear him chuckling at what I just said and he raises his arm and asks me "shall we?" I smile and say "we shall" and we head towards the door.

"Come on guys!! Don't leave me alone" we hear Becca whine like a child and forcefully interlocks her arm in Dan's ! I laugh at both of them. And we make our way to the party..

Let's get over with this.. I think to myself..

Dan and I instantly loose Becca because she ditched us as she found a cute guy to dance with, so me and Dan were left in awkward silence after what felt like hours he broke the silence and asked me "wanna dance?" , "You can dance?" I ask him smirking, "I bet I can dance better than you Macy, now come on" he says and he pulls me in the middle of the dance floor and drapes and arm on my waist and we dance slowly to the slow song playing in the background.

"You know I really can't believe that you are actually single!" ,"What does that mean?" I ask him chuckling. "Come on Macy you really are a beautiful girl, but you would look even more gorgeous with long hair" he says and slightly touches my short hair, I sigh and say, "I did have long hair almost till my chest" , "then why the hell did you chop it off women.. " he asks me in complete shock.
"A story for another time" I say and stay silent not wanting to talk about it more.
And Dan understood my tone so he doesn't further question me..

We dance slowly in our own world.. and in our own thoughts.. in a peaceful silence..
