Macy's POV:
(6months later!..)

"Oh my god! Why isn't the cake guy lifting the fucking phone!" I shout out loudly to myself. "Daniel Lane get your ass down right now!" ,"God Macy calm the hell down! Everything will be fine" "what do you mean everything is going to be fine? The fucking cake guy isn't lifting the phone, Emma's dress has to be delivered, my dress is in my apartment, the decorations are still going on and the guests will arrive in 2hours!!" I yell at him.

He holds his head and says "will you calm down? I am going to get the cake and Emma's dress now, ok? You go and change till then." "Then what about the arrangements? Who will look after it?" I ask him frustrated.! Literally at the moment I felt like killing him!

"I'll be here!" Someone says from behind, I look over and see Matt coming in a tuxedo, I let out a deep breath! And say "you are my knight in shining armor! Thank you so much Matt!" He hugs me tightly and whispers "anytime princess" I smile and kiss his cheek and rush towards my apartment to get ready for the evening!

Let me tell you guys what exactly this rush is about.. it's Emma's 5th birthday and she wanted a huge party! Since her ass father, non other than Daniel did not even celebrate her 1st birthday! So here I am running around trying to make everything perfect for my little girl!.

I quickly unlock the apartment door and see the whole living room is a mess! Gosh! Did a volcano erupt here? "Becca what happened here?" I yell. I get no reply I go into her room and see her buried in her closet looking very seriously. "What happened out there women?" I ask her again, she turns around and says irritated "can't you keep your mouth shut? Dan's mom hates me! Like literally! Ok? So I have to find a perfect dress, so she doesn't embarrass me infront of everyone" I roll my eyes and push her aside and start hunting her closet for the perfect dress.

After bickering with her for another 15mins! We finally get  one dress for her and I go into my room to change for the evening.

"Woah! Look whose looking all sexy" Becca says whistling slightly. I chuckle and say "not more than you". And we head towards Dan's home in a taxi.

I was getting really tensed since Dan's family was going to come. His cousins, sisters, brothers including his parents are going to come! At the moment I felt like just running back into my room and hiding from all this crowd but at the Same time Emma's happy face came in front of my eyes and that gave me a boost. I was broken from my thoughts by Becca calling my name. "Macy you alright?" I nod my head. "Come on we reached" she says and gets out of the car.

Ok let's do this.. I think to myself.

The party was glistening brightly. And the crowd seemed to be portraying money! I looked down at my dress and started to analyze if I was dressed appropriately now. "You look more than beautiful, and perfect to fit in this party, just be yourself Macy" someone says into my ear and turns me around gently, I smile at Matt and hug him tightly because I think no one can ever know me better than him. And I am really great full to have him in my life.
"Shall we?" He asks me with his hand up, I let out a breath and hold his hand tight and foĺlow him in.

"Finally! Thank God you made it! Emma is almost in tears, what took you so long?" Dan immediately bombards me with questions. I don't say anything and go towards Emma, "baby I'm sorry" she hugs me and says into my ear "I love you mamma, it's the best birthday of my life" I kiss her forehead and whisper back "we are twinning" she grins and starts to drag me with Dan on the other hand towards the cake. I chuckle at her excitement and follow her.

"Why did you accept to be a motherly figure in Emma's life? Is it for money?" Someone says behind me, I turn towards her and recognize her. "Hello Mrs. Lane. I'm Macy Wilson, and coming to the question you asked Emma is a princess and having her in my life has nothing to do with money" I say genuinely, she scoffs and says "really? You think I don't know about the cheap tactics Dan's girlfriends used to do? Come on just tell me the rate and leave, don't do all this party drama and shit" I gap at the way she arrogantly waves her purse in front of me.

"Well I'm so sorry ma'am but firstly I am not Dan's girlfriend or any of his flings, I am his best friend and I would like to keep our relationship there only, and coming to your so called money, I really don't need it because I am from a well of and rich family my parents are one of the best doctors in California and I can get whatever I want without any efforts" I say and just storm out to the balcony for some air.

I was beyond frustrated with what that women has told me. Dan warned me saying that she can get a bit overprotective about him and Emma, but up to this extinct? Gosh she is crazy I thought to myself. I was deep in my thoughts when someone interrupted me.

"You are more than perfect for Emma I feel", I turned back and saw Mr Lane smiling towards me. I give him a small smile and turn towards the garden below us. "Want some?" He offered me a glass of champagne but I denied it. He chuckled "come on Macy, just because you have a daughter in your life now it doesnt mean you cannot enjoy, dont forget you just started your medical school" , I giggled "no it's not like that Mr Lane, I'm just not in the mood to drink" "oh cut the formalities call me dad" he told me genuinely.

I nodded my head and smiled. "Dont worry about my wife, she likes you a lot, she was just testing you" he said suddenly. I looked at him in shock and turned back to see Mrs Lane and to my utter astonishment she smiled at me.!

Wow.. I thought to myself. Mr Lane, I mean dad laughed at my expression and said,

"Welcome to our family Macy"!
