Since I accepted to be a motherly person in Emma's life and a month since Daniel, Rebecca and I became really close. Life seemed to be like a complete Bliss.!
Everything seemed to be perfect.
I was broken from my thoughts by my apartment bell ringing I see that the time is around 4pm, maybe it's Emma and Dan I think to myself and head towards the door. "Dan I think em-" my eyes widen and my throat constricts with no words coming out.
"Hey.." the raspy voice trails of.. "what are you doing here?" I ask still not recovered from the initial shock. "I miss you Macy" Matt says.. I just gap at him and just open and close my mouth in no words.
He chuckles and says "god I miss you so much," I smile and say "I miss you too idiot!" "Come on in" I say and open the door wider for him, he nods in approval seeing the whole house "you made it really good" "I didn't.. but we did it together" I say looking around and smiling "we?" He asks with furrowed eyes, I nod and say "yeah, Becca, me and Dan together did this.!" His eyes harden at Dan's name but he quickly recovers and settles on the couch I sit opposite to him and ask him "so? Why have you come here?", "I told you right I miss you so I came" I narrow my eyes at him and say "this isn't a joke, what's the matter and why have you grown your beard? I seriously don't like hair on face it tickles so much" and I quickly cover my mouth, he smirks and says "so are you suggesting that I should kiss you Macy?" "I never said that. I was just telling my opinion" I say with a shrug "oh come on, admit it you wanna kiss me right?" He says coming closer to me, I back away a little and my back hits the arm rest of the couch.
Shit! I'm basically sandwiched between Matt and the fucking arm rest! He looks at me with so much intensity in his eyes that I had to look away, he tilts my chin towards him and whispers, inches away from me "I love you so much Macy, when will you understand that?" I just stare at his eyes knowing that he is looking at mine for permission, he leans forward to kiss me and our lips barely touching..

"Hey Macy.. Em-" Daniel suddenly bargs in. I push Matt away quickly from me and push my hair into my ear and look at Dan. His eyes are widened and he looks at me with shock, I clear my throat and ask Dan "what happened to Emma?". He narrowes his eyes at Matt and says sarcastically "forget it. You seem to be quite busy right?" He doesn't even wait for my reply and just storms away from the house.
I stare at his back with shock, what the hell just Happened? I come out from my thoughts and quickly run behind Dan but Matt stops me, "hey leave him, I came all the way from California to see you, and you can't just leave me" " Matt please I have to go, there are things you won't understand", he looks at me in horror and says "you love him right?" I look at him in disbelief and say "you are crazy! Me and Dan are really good friends" "then just give him some time for today and spend the rest of the day with me" ,"please Matt let me go it's really important to talk to Dan right now" I say desperately. "You weren't busy when I came" he says I smack myself internally and say "look I'll be back but let me go and see him first please".
"Mac-" "leave her hand now" Matt gets cut off by an angry voice I look at the door and see that Becca and a really angry Dan are standing there, I look at Becca and she smiles at me understandingly and winks at me. Now I get it! She is the one who brought back Dan! God thank you so much! I think to myself. "Or what?" Matt says in a challenging tone and his grip on me tightens but not in a way which would hurt me, Dan's knuckles turned white because of how hard he was clenching them. "ok ok! I know where this glare challenge is gonna end, cut it you both now. And can we sit like civilized doctors and talk?" Becca asks, "I'm not a doctor" Matt adds, I smack his hand and he looks at me and says "what? It is the truth right?" I glare and pull him towards the couch since he still didn't leave my hand.
Soon Dan and Rebecca come and sit opposite to us, but not a second did Dan look away Matt's hand which was holding mine, I clear my throat and break the tension in the room "well, guys this is Matt that I told you about and Matt these are my best friends Dan and Becca", Becca smiles and says "we are not friends, we are family" I chuckle and shake my head. Dan still has the serious expression, I sigh I wriggle my hand out of Matt's grip and sit beside Dan and keep my hand on his shoulder to gain his attention, he looks at me and says "I can't act Macy, so I'm gonna say the truth" I look at him in confusion.
"You, I envy you man" Dan says pointing towards Matt I try to stop him but he holds his hand out to me, "she loved you, she truly did, you know why? Because no women would want to keep in touch with her ex who basically ruined her life!" "I don't know if she still loves you or not, but she still cares about you more than you can ever imagine, if you ever, let me emphasize "ever again" make her cry I swear to God, you won't see the world the next minute" Dan concludes with his eyes in fury and fists clenched. I just stare at him in shock and don't say anything.
Matt chuckles and says "I know she loved me, And I'm pretty sure she still loves me. But you better stay the hell away from my girl because you are clearly in love with her" I look at Matt as if he lost his mind or something and look at Dan because he isn't denying what Matt just said.
Dan's in love with me?
What the hell is going on here? I think to myself. Dan just leaves abruptly and I follow him because I need answers. Matt is stopped by Becca and I am so greatfull to her today. I follow Dan and shout "hey stop running away from the reality and fucking face it you scared cat" he looks at me, and says "you are the kitten here not me" I smile and say "Dan come on wait up, don't go I wanna talk to you" he sighs and sits on the entrance of the apartments. I quickly go and sit beside him.
It seemed like hours since we sat here, "care to explain?" I say and break the silence, he looks down and says "it wasn't meant to happen Macy. I shouldn't have fallen for you because that would be unfaithful to my Macy" I chuckle and say "god having two Macy's in your life is so bad" he laughs and says "I'm greatfull to have both".
"I realized that I am in love with you when you accepted Emma as your daughter" he says smiling, I look at him in shock and he nods his head and says "yeah that night when I confessed that I love you was not as a friend Macy, I saw your reaction and I was afraid that you wouldn't want to see me anymore or things will get awkward or something. So I covered it up".
I lean my head on his shoulder and say "thank you for everything Dan" he kisses my head and says "I don't want your thank you, just don't hate me Macy" I look into his eyes directly and say "never" he smiles and interlocks our hands together. I look at them and sigh in content.
Because that moment I knew, Dan would be there for me no matter what....
