"i just want school to end already!" i groan when christie and i arrive at home a few minutes later. "well we have a long while so get used to being in school" she says.
i roll my eyes, walking in the house and setting my bag down, immediately getting the idea to go out and ride my bike.
i need to do it. i haven't done it since the last day of summer.
my feet turn to my mom in the kitchen to ask her.
she says yes and i thank her endlessly as i go outside and grab my bike. i walk it down the driveway as i watch mike pull his out of his garage.
"mike!" i yell. he looks up at me squinting his eyes. "what?"
"where are you going?" i question him.
"none of your business" he says getting onto his bike. i give him a look before pedaling off with him. "seriously though, where are you going?" i ride alongside him, badgering him about his pending location.
"will's"
"can i come?" i ask.
he looks over. "no!"
i huff riding past him, bopping my head to the side and hearing him fall off his bike. "ow!" he yelps when his body hit the ground.
i stop my bike and turn around as he starts to get up. "now! can i come?!" i yell. if he knows about my powers i can use them to my advantage. he nods and gets back onto his bike.
"yeah that's what i thought" i mumble under my breath as he hops back on. we ride our bikes all the way to will's.
i liked will's house. i told him and joyce that the first time will and i hung out together.
we drop our bikes out front and walk up to the byer's residence as mike told me that they couldn't get ahold of will after his episode yesterday.
"hello?" mike asks pounding on the door. "will!" i yell. i help him knock but we stop when it suddenly opens and joyce appears.
"hey guys" she smiles. we share a look before looking at her. "is will here?" i ask her. she looks back into the house before looking at the two of us children.
"now is not really a good time guys" she says, her fingers gripping onto the door. "is he okay?" mike asks followed by an uneasy sigh from joyce.
