Lauren sat next to Hopper on their porch stairs. He looked drained and exhausted as his eyes met Lauren's, the file still in his hands. He eyed the duffle bag that she put to her side before looking down at the file.
"I might have doubted you kid" he said and Lauren immediately felt relief, she knew exactly what he was talking about.
He opened the file and took out a drawing of the monster from the upside down and as soon as Lauren saw it her heart dropped.
"H-How?" she asked, slightly out of breath. "Will" Hopper said and Lauren nodded.
"What do you know about this creature" Hopper asked and Lauren gulped. "I've seen it in the upside down. When I get the episodes. I saw it attack Will last time and I-I" Lauren stopped to take a breath.
"Its okay Lauren. Take your time" Hopper said, putting his hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
"All I know is that it's dangerous and every time I get an episode it feels like its trying to get closer to me, in some weird twisted way" Lauren said, and Hopper squeezed her shoulder reassuringly.
"Don't worry. You keep fighting it alright? It got to Will and its not looking good" Hopper said and Lauren nodded. "Is he ok? Will?" Lauren asked as she hugged herself.
"He'll be ok" Hopper said.
"Alright. Call the station if you need anything ok? And Lauren?" he asked as they both stood up.
"Yeah?" Lauren asked. "What's in the bag?" Hopper asked and Lauren's heart beat picked up speed. The moment her face dropped, Hopper knew that his suspicions were true.
"Nothing. Just girl stuff" she excused and he shook his head. "Why am I not believing that?" he asked.
"Give me the bag" he ordered and Lauren gulped. "Please" she whispered she shook her head.
"Give me the goddamn bag, Lauren" he ordered louder this time and she gave it to him.
She immediately looked down when she heard the zipper and closed her eyes when she heard him rummage through the bag. When he saw what was inside he frowned at first, not understanding why she would have anything like this. When it clicked his face fell.
"You have got to be shitting me" he whispered before he looked up at her. "I thought we got rid of the last one in Hawkins" he said, more to himself. Then his eyes focused on Lauren and she flinched when she saw the amount of anger that showed on his face.
"Do you know how dangerous these places are, Lauren? Huh?" He scolded her and she inhaled a sharp breath when she heard his worried tone.
"You're going to tell me where that place is. Now! And I'm going to call the station, get them to arrest each one of them assholes and shut it down!" He yelled at her, the thought of her getting really hurt scared him.
"No! please you don't understand" she begged. "I need this place, I-" she stopped when she saw the worried look on his face.
"I know it sounds crazy, but please don't do it" she begged and he nodded. "Yeah it sure as hell does" he said.
"Lauren, that place is not for you. Its not for anyone, no one benefits from it and if you think you need it then you're kidding yourself" he said, softly this time and she exhaled.
Ever since the events of the upside down, Hopper has kept a close eye on Lauren. He knew she was bound to act out at some point, but he had no clue how.
"It's on 21st street in the underground garage" she whispered, looking down as a tear ran down her cheek.
He nodded before walking away, taking her duffle bag with him. She felt more tears run down her cheek before she sniffled.
Then her eyes widened in alarm at the possibility of Billy being there. "Holy shit! Holy shit!" she yelled as she ran to her house and knocked on the door frantically.
"Lauren, honey what's wrong?" her mom opened the door, confused as to why her daughter was shouting profanities at the front door.
"I forgot a book at school its so important!" she lied as she grabbed the car keys. She ignored her mom calling out to her as she ran to the car, immediately starting it and driving to the fight club.
She kept her head down as she sped in the street, passing Hopper's car and calculating that she had approximately 15 seconds to walk in, get Billy then walk out.
She parked the car and almost fell when she jumped out of the driver's seat. She ran inside and looked around worriedly, she felt like her life was in slow motion. The club was filled to the brim and she couldn't see Billy anywhere.
"Billy!" she screamed as she searched for him. She bumped into several people before she spotted him in the ring.
"Shit!" she cursed before running towards it. "Melisa!" she heard someone shout before ignoring them.
"Billy!" she shouted and he turned, his face contorting in confusion. She looked at his opponent and she could tell that it was Archie.
"Hey Melisa" Archie said and Billy's head shot to look at him. "Melisa?" he asked and Lauren cursed out loud.
"Look I can explain but we need to get out of here-"
"Hawkins PD!"
"Now!" she screamed before taking his hand. He jumped over the ropes of the ring, his hand in Lauren's as she led him to the back door. They ran until they reached her car and she started it and took off, not even daring to look behind her.
"Holy shit!" Billy screamed, satisfied with the adrenaline rush. Lauren breathed as a smile spread on her face.
"So you're Melisa Watson huh?" He asked and she nodded. "That's so sexy" he said and a whole new type of tension took over the atmosphere.
"How'd you know that the police were going to be there?" Billy asked, his gaze set on Lauren who looked at the rode as she drove.
"I saw them come here. I couldn't just leave you in there" she said.
"Stop the car" Billy growled lowly and Lauren was taken by surprise.
"Wha-" she said before she saw the look in his eyes; pure lust.
She drove the car until she reached an empty road. She put it on park as her hands began to shake.
She turned to look at Billy, who held her trembling hand in his.
"Lauren Henderson, do you have any idea what you're doing to me?" he whispered, slightly leaning over to her side.
She breathed out when she realized that their faces were mere inches away from each other.
He brought his hand up to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear before he closed the distance between them.
The kiss was slow and passionate as they both savored this moment together.
He tasted like cigarettes and mint and Lauren felt intoxicated as she kissed him back. They broke off for a few seconds to catch their breaths before she leaned in again, this time he kissed her hungrily before he moved to her neck.
Billy Hargrove was Lauren's first kiss, and it was more than perfect.
