He put his head right into the bunk. I was so glad I'd had the idea to hide her. I tried to act casual, pretending I was writing something on my laptop.
'I think she went outside.' I lied. He sort of glared at me for a moment. Could he see the lump behind me? Could he see how sweaty and out of breath I was? Had we been rumbled?
'Ok.' He said eventually and wandered away. I watched him walk down the stairs before I let out a massive sigh of relief.
'He's gone.' I whispered to her. She pushed the covers off her, her face even redder and wetter than before.
'Thats why we can't do this.' She said, almost angrily, before getting up and leaving me lying there, alone and confused. She had kissed me first! Why was she pissed at me? I hadn't forced her to come sit with me and watch a film. She didn't have to do anything.
I put my head out the curtain and saw her go into her own bed. It was then that I noticed our two empty cups of tea, discarded and knocked over, lying in the hallway. Kyle must have seen them. He wasn't a stupid guy. I had a horrible feeling we were about to have our little secret uncovered.
