Theo
I wish Shai would stop teasing me. She kisses me and encourages me and then she just stops and says she's not ready. Ugh, woman. I look down at her. Her eyes are barely open and her head is falling off to the side.

"You can go to sleep, you know," I say softly. Her eyes open a little and she looks at me. She smiles. She stretches and cuddles up to me. Then she dose the weirdest thing, she leans up and presses her lips to mine. She pulls away and grins.

"That was a friendly kiss," she says. I'm still too stunned to respond.

----

I wake up to someone breathing on my neck. I can smell the faint smell of Shai's perfume, so I know it's her.

"I'm awake," I say. I feel her move away, quickly. I open my eyes and she's sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You know Bella,-" I say, "-Aren't I suppose to be watching you sleep?" I smile at the back of her head. She turns to face me.

"Well, your never awake to do that. So I have to," she shrugs.

"Your so cute," I say, pinching her cheek. She swats my hand away.

"Did you know, you say that a lot?"

"I can't help it, you are," I roll off the bed. I like Shai a little more each day. And I can't help but wonder, will we ever be together? Maybe she just enjoys watching me squirm. I know I enjoy tempting her.

"Theo?" Says Shai from behind me.

"Yes," I pour myself a drink, and take a sip.

"Why do you like me?" She picks at some nail polish and doesn't look at me. I almost choke on my water, "Why? I can't even explain, how much I like you. Not even close," I take her head in my hands and kiss her forehead.

"Well try," she mumbles. I chuckle.

"Okay, well. For one, I love your name. Shailene. Ah, gorgeous." She giggles as she sits on the bed. "Two, your personality is, perfection. Your so bubbly, but can be serious. Your absolutely hilarious and can make any tension go away, just like that. Your so beautiful and you would never make anyone feel bad. Even if they had wronged you first. And Shai...I think..." I trail off. I want to tell her I love her. 'Cause I know I do. But I also know it might just push her away even more. She might think I'm telling her that just so she'll give us a chance. I'm not going to tell her, yet. I want to tell her when I know she'll say it back.

"You think what?" She asks. I sit down on the bed and look at her.

"I think your amazing," I'm not lying. Technically.

"As sweet as that was, I'm not changing my mind." I smirk and scoot closer to her.

"Really?" I nuzzle her neck. I hear her breath pick up.

"Really," she pushes me off and walks to the bathroom.

"Well played!" I call after her. I hear her laughter as the shower turns on. I decide to watch some tv. Some CSI should do it. I surf through the channels and find one.

"This program is being interrupted by an important message," the news channel comes up and I don't bother to change it.

"A man was found hanging from the side of a cliff earlier this s'morning." A picture of...Shai's dad? appears on the screen.

"What?" I say to the tv.

"Apparently,-" the lady continues, "-he says he was trying to help a seagull that had dived into the water. Police believe he was intoxicated. With drugs or alcohol, we are not sure. More details will be coming soon," the news disappears and CSI comes back on.
