T.W.: blood, shooting
It was the night of the full moon. No other sightings of the hunter had been heard of recently, but the roommates were still wary.
"Are you sure L?" Virgil asked.
It was agreed that Logan would stay in Virgil s room with him for the night.
Logan nodded, "I'm sure Virge."
Virgil sighed and curled up to Logan, "okay, I trust you."
Logan kissed Virgil's forehead, "we'll be okay."
Virgil nodded, "What time is it?"
"Seven forty." Logan said, "the moon rises in nine minutes."
Virgil sighed. Logan hugged his boyfriend, carding his fingers through the vampires hair.
Minutes ticked by in silence. Logan hissed in pain, curling in on himself slightly. Virgil bit his lip as Logan transformed into a black wolf.
"Logan?" Virgil whispered.
The wolf looked up at him with big, dark blue eyes. He pushed his muzzle in the crook of Virgil's neck, causing the vampire to smile and let out a small laugh.
"So you're in control L?" Virgil asked.
Logan wagged his tail, placing a paw on Virgil's leg. Virgil sighed happily, scratching behind Logan's ears. The wolf closed his eyes and leaned into the touch.
"Hey L?" Virgil said, "you're adorable as a wolf."
Logan barked in Virgil's face, making Virgil laugh. Moments later, Patton slammed the door open.
"I heard a dog!" Patton squealed.
Logan sighed and layed his head on his paws.
Virgil smirked, "hey Patt."
"Hey Virge!" Patton giggled, "is that Logan?"
Virgil nodded and Patton ran over, petting the wolf's thick black fur.
"Oh my goodness, you're adorable Lo!" Patton squealed.
"Told you." Virgil smiled.
Logan huffed and stood up on the bed, shaking out his coat. There was a knock at the front door.
"I'll get it!" Roman called.
A minute passed where Patton and Virgil pet Logan. Then everything went wrong.
"Hey! You cant-!" Roman yelled.
Moments later, the hunter stood in the doorway of Virgil's room.
"Get out!" He yelled to Patton, aiming his gun at Virgil.
Patton froze, "What?! No-!"
The hunter pulled the trigger. Logan collapsed to the floor with a yelp.
"Logan!" Virgil screamed, falling off the bed and cradling the wolf.
Roman came back and grabbed the hunter, dragging him away and throwing him out of the apartment. Patton knelt by Virgil and Logan. The wolf's fur was slick with blood from the bullet hole in his shoulder.
"Virge, we gotta take him to the vet." Patton said.
Virgil nodded, his hands shaking and tears on his cheeks. Roman came back again and picked up Logan.
"Come on, let's get him to the vet." Roman said.
Patton and Virgil nodded, running out to the car. Roman put Logan in the back with Virgil, then hopped into the drivers seat.
The short ride seemed like an eternity, but eventually Roman stopped the car and picked up Logan again.
"Oh my gosh, what happened?" The vet asked once the entered.
"He was shot." Roman explained.
The vet nodded, "bring him back."
They all went to the back and Roman layed Logan on one of the tables. Logan was unconscious and his breathing was shallow.
The vet began to work. She got the bullet out, then stitched and cleaned the wound.
"Alright," she sighed, "he should be fine now. The bullet didn't hit anything important."
"Thank you." Roman sighed softly.
"Can I ask what breed he is?" The vet asked.
The three others froze.
"Um," Virgil started, "H-he's part... husky and part, uh, Tibetan mastiff?"
She nodded, "interesting mix. I would have thought he was a wolf."
Patton chuckled, "yeah..."
"Can we stay until he wakes up?" Virgil asked.
The vet hummed, "I don't see why not. Just try not to disturb the other animals."
Virgil sighed in relief, "thank you."
"No problem," she smiled, "if you need anything I'll be upstairs."
The vet left. Virgil pet Logan's head, feeling the soft fur under his fingers. Logan's tail gave a weak thump. Virgil let out a mix between a laugh and a sob.
"He'll be okay Virge." Patton whispered, "all we have to do now is sneak him out tomorrow morning."
Virgil laughed, "yeah. That's gonna be something."
Roman sighed lightly, "it sure will be."
