Virgil hummed contently as Logan combed his fingers through his hair. He was laying with his head on Logan's stomach, their intertwined hands resting on Virgil's chest.

They had a picnic under the stars. Logan had surprised Virgil with blood-cookies, which he admitted Patton had helped him make.

"Hey, L?" Virgil asked quietly.

Logan hummed in response.

"Do you think the hunter will leave without, you know... killing?" Virgil whispered.

Logan was quiet for a moment, "it is a possibility."

Virgil squeezed Logan's hand, "I'm scared L."

"I know Virge." Logan sighed, "I'm scared too."

There was a moment of silence between them. Suddenly, Logan sat up.

"L? What-"

Logan quickly shushed Virgil, "someone is here."

It was quiet for a few more moments. There was a bang and Logan pulled Virgil away from the spot they were just sitting. Virgil felt a burning, stinging pain cut across his arm.

"Are you okay Virge?" Logan asked once they were hidden.

Virgil nodded, "silver bullets. It's the hunter."

Logan hugged Virgil tightly, "it's okay Virge, we'll get home safe."

Virgil nodded into Logan's chest, gritting his teeth. Logan looked around the tree, then took Virgil's hand and ran. They heard gunshots behind them and a branch shattered next to Logan.

Soon, they made it out into the open, where public eyes could keep them safe.

"Are you okay?" Logan panted, holding Virgil's cheek.

Virgil nodded, breathing heavily. Logan hugged Virgil tightly, pressing a kiss to the side of Virgil's head.

"Let's go home and get you patched up." Logan whispered.

Virgil nodded, holding his arm where the bullet scratched it. Logan kept an arm around him as they walked back to their apartment.

"L?" Virgil mumbled, "I'm not feeling too great."

Logan unlocked the apartment door, "I know Virge, it's the silver. Once we get it cleaned out you should start feeling better."

Virgil nodded and let Logan take him to the couch. Logan quickly grabbed a first aid kit, starting to clean and bandage Virgil's wound.

"Are you feeling better Virge?" Logan asked quietly.

Virgil nodded and yawned, "can we go to bed now?"

Logan nodded and picked up his boyfriend. Virgil smiled softly, tucking his face in Logan's chest. The vampire and werewolf curled up in bed, falling into a deep, uneasy sleep.
