Rana POV
Lucifer was running his fingers along the keys before slamming them randomly against the ivory. I'd seen him irritated plenty of times, usually at Maze, yet today his anger seemed to stem from thin air. I glanced to Maze, verifying that she was not the origin of our king's blood boiling before I even dared to approach.
"Dare I ask what has your horns twisted in a spiral?" Lucifer signed and refilled his glass with top shelf whisky before pointing to the empty space next to him. I chuckled slightly and sat down, clearing my throat before letting my fingers dance along the keys with his. Being as I was one of the few to be able to calm the devil himself down, I found it almost amusing.
"I got a letter." His British accent never seemed to give way to anger, instead it left his lips smoothly. Just as smooth as the whiskey in his glass and on his lips. "A goofy woman whom I've surely spent a night with has mentioned my club to paranormal investigators. Those little bugs can't be good for business." We didn't stop playing and instead continued on with an old tune that Lucifer had become fond of recently. "Granted I could show them my devil face and surely they'd never want to investigate again. It seems when you tell humans you're the devil they wouldn't dare actually believe the truth." He scoffed and stopped playing, grabbing his glass and downing the contents.
Lucifer had been obsessed over a human detective lately and I didn't blame him considering. Our kind had to find some sort of entertainment on this planet father had created. Yes father, as in God the father. I sighed and stopped playing as well, leaning my head on Lucifer's shoulder.
"Why come here Luci? I never expected to live my entire existence on this planet. I can tell you I actually enjoyed my occasional visits to hell."
"Yes well your occasional visits caught my interest Rana." I lifted my head to see his devilish smirk, making on of my own form. "That is why I am going TO-" He hopped off the bench and continued in his sing songy voice as he grabbed his jacket. "CONTINUE to pursue Chloe Decker." Lucifer chuckled. "After all she can't resist me forever. Isn't that right my dearest sister?" He grabbed my face and pecked my lips before walking towards the exit. Now I know one might think the term sister in heaven means biological sister. We were all just merely created by God, nothing more than a term in our minds. "When these little pests come to Lux I'll just tell them I'm the devil! Easy human world problems!" With that the door opened and closed as I signed and placed my head on the piano.
"He surely doesn't make our lives easy does it?" Maze groaned and took the empty glass and the half filled bottle Lucifer left. I raised my head and looked to her before shaking it.
"It would not be Lucifer if it was easy Maze."
"Yeah well at least you got a break from him. Actually, I think I'd rather be stuck in hell than on this planet." She growled lowly, smashing the glass in her grasp before cursing.
"Easy now.... Demon strength and human items don't tend to go hand in hand." I put up my coloured blondish grey hair into a ponytail before rising from the bench. "So where is this letter?"
"Probably in the penthouse." Maze shrugged before resuming the process of cleaning up her mess. "I heard him cursing up his father's name before you wandered in so more than likely it's in tiny little pieces on the floor." I chuckled before walking to the elevator. "I'll handle it. Just make sure he doesn't burn the club down at some point?"
"No promises!" She yelled before the elevator doors closed in front of me. Paranormal investigators? I chuckled slightly and ran my thoughts through the hundreds of times I'd run into such people. Truth be told they were some of the smartest yet weirdest people I'd come across in my life times. The chime of the elevator pulled me from my thoughts and I wandered into Lucifer's penthouse. His cologne was comforting and reminded me of a word humans use called home. Yet the last time I had been home I was falling from the sky to earth thousands of years ago. I took a deep breath and let my wings out. One burned black with sin, the other a silky white. My heart ached with pain from the memories before guilt made me hide them once more.
My eyes caught a letter, crinkled from being squeezed in Lucifer's grasp, laying on the sofa. The leather was cold against my legs as I curled up and read it, unconsciously reading out loud.
"The Ghost Adventure's crew was brought aware that Lux might be housing the spirit of the devil himself. We will be coming out April 22nd to conduct an initial interview if possible. Blah Blah Blah. If the location is deemed haunted we would like to conduct an investigation." My interest was lost as I tossed the letter and chuckled. Maybe this would be fun in some way. After all weren't these the guys on TV?
Since being stuck on earth I did tend to enjoy the occasional tv binge. After all knowing how to play every instrument, cook nearly anything, and the list goes on. There comes a time where TV is the final choice for entertainment. I'd seen a few episodes and being divine myself I knew the voices they heard were real and in fact sometimes people I had met when they were living and breathing on this earth. Other times I had seen them in their cells in hell, bound to playing over horrific moments in their lives between hell and earth.
"Well this should be interesting." A smirk graced my lips as I got up and glanced to the letter once more. "Father I tend to give your favorite creations the most interesting and terrifying experiences of their lives." I glanced to the sky before wandering off to Lucifer's room to close my eyes for the night.
