Rana POV

I forced myself to stand and glance in the mirror. My back throbbed from the healing skin and new wings forming underneath. Thankfully I knew they were at least growing back. After all Lucifer had cut his off dozens of times.

"What are you doing up?" I heard Zak's groggy voice from the bed. Absentmindedly I ran my fingers up my spine to the squishy flesh.

"I can't sleep anymore." I glanced over to him, eyes barely open and hair in disarray. He grabbed his glasses and sat up as I wandered back over. Gingerly I laid down on my stomach and glanced at him. "How'd you find me?"

"Three years wasn't gonna stop me from looking for you. I love you.... Even though you should have never left." His jaw tensed either with anger or sadness. Hints of grey trickled through his hair. Three years. Time never seemed to mean anything to me and yet I'd lost time with him of all people.

"I-I didn't know it had been that long ago Zak." I looked down yet still felt the warmth of his body come closer.

"I forgive you if that's what you're wondering."

"Brutus and Gracie?" He chuckled slightly.

"They're fine. Brutus came to live with me. Even Aaron, Billy, and Jay were worried about you." A sigh escaped him.

"You mean worried about you because I'm not around?" A smirk crossed his lips slightly before he nodded. "So when do we go home?"

"We? I need to find your brother and punish him Rana. I'm not going home till-"

"But I need you with me." Yeah right. A angel needing a human sounded crazy, but I'd already lost too much time with him. I groaned as I sat up, my back to him. I made the motions for my wings to extend, feeling small bones move in my back, yet in the mirror nothing appeared.

"Please." Zak placed a hand on my shoulder very gingerly. "Give it time. All I can see is bones moving under your shirt. I'll go home with you, but I'm not stopping my search for your brother."

"Or ghosts."

"Well of course not." We both managed a chuckle till the bedroom door slowly opened. Luci looked tired, but I knew the anger behind those eyes.

"How are you feeling?" He stepped in and got to his knees, taking my hands. "You shouldn't even be sitting up sister."

"I'm okay. Back is throbbing and I am impatiently waiting for my wings to regenerate." Lucifer chuckled before letting go of my hands.

"Give it a week. I want you out of this country today sister."

"As I want all of us out of this country." He sighed and shook his head. "Then I stay too. I shouldn't have left you Luci or anyone. However I knew I needed to in order to keep you all safe! It's been 3 years and it felt like seconds because never for more than a week did stop anywhere. He was always right behind me."

"Fine then we all go home." Lucifer said sternly before he stood. "How's your back?"

"Painful. Wings growing is a sensation I could do without." He chuckled before turning away and walking to leave the bedroom.

"Well get dressed. We must not waste time getting out of bloody ole London. Pack up!" He yelled the last bit as he spun on his heels then clapped his hands. My brother taking control like the obsessive angel he could sometimes be.

We all tried to get ready in a reasonable amount of time. Yet I found myself standing outside, coat wrapped around me as I looked out at the London country side.

"You shouldn't be out here alone. Not in your state." My brother's silky voice chimed as he stepped beside me. "We've missed you. Los Angeles has missed you." We both stared straight ahead. "He's aging. Though slower than his friends.... He's had many lovers yet I find him at Lux frequently. Nursing your favour brandy."

"It doesn't surprise me."

"We found a few demons as well. Some whom I never banished to earth." I glanced to him. "They escaped."

"How?"

"They don't have a king Rana." His jaw tensed slightly. "If it progresses anymore....."

"You'd have to go back. Close the gate." He nodded before I looked away. The lump in my throat grew as I leaned onto his shoulder. His arms snaked around me.

"I'm hoping it was just a few daring demons. However once they find out I'm here. Living comfortably. It will only be a matter of time before they come rushing in the hundreds. Taking bodies and roaming to try and be with me. I'll have to go back and restore order."

"I'll go with-"

"You won't. A day there is so long here. By the time we got back you'd have lost even more time with Zak." I pulled away before taking a deep breath. "I'm hoping it won't come to that Rana."

"As am I brother." I heard the door open behind us and I turned to see the others carrying their bags. Zak flashes a smile, which was a rare thing in itself. They loaded the bags in the two trucks, Zak and I joining the car with Lucifer and Aaron. Maze driving the others in the other vehicle.

I coiled to Zak's side, my eyes growing heavy from the lack of energy my body had while it regenerated my wings. I could feel him press a kiss on the top of my head before he got comfortable.

"Los Angeles or Las Vegas."

"LA. I need to get her back to where she belongs." Zak chimed and his hand grabbed mine. I didn't deserve a human like him. My biggest fault and threat was him. "Get some rest Rana. I'll wake you when we get to the plane." As if it was a command, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
