Aaron POV
"Pull over let me put in that second address." Zak looked to Nick as my eyes grew wide.
"What?! You didn't hear Rana?! Don't go at night. Considering today I'm pretty convinced she isn't crazy Zak. There is a reason she said that and it surely isn't because she doesn't want to miss out on the thrill." Zak scoffed as usual flaunting his egotistical self when it came to the supernatural. Nick glanced to me and shrugged as he knew damn well we weren't going to be able to change Zak's mind. I just sighed and texted Jay and Billy to meet us at the address mentioned. It was on the nice side of LA, where the expensive shops resided and plenty of nightlife. Yet when we got there and I looked up to the building, sheer fear came over me. I shivered and looked to Zak whose eyes were locked on one of the windows.
"It doesn't look that bad guys." He climbed out and glanced down at the sheet of paper. "Top floor. The back alley should have a ladder since it's a old style building."
"I- I still don't like this man."
"Come on. At least there isn't a basement." Zak chuckled before leading the way with his flashlight down the poorly lit alley. Something was telling me to turn back and go back to the van. That something was every ounce of my being pulsing with fear. Nonetheless we did find the fire escape ladders and began our ascent of the building. My stomach knotted when we managed to get inside.
If there was something demonic here there wasn't much of a escape route other than hopefully getting through the doors. I wandered over to the door to the hall and said a little pray of thanks when realising it was unlocked. Surely I'd be able to take the stairs instead of a ladder.
"Ready guys?"
"What about Jay and Billy?" Nick questioned while looking around after he closed the window, sealing us in the room
"We'll just get a head start with the spirit box." Zak turned it on and walked around, his flashlight caught a wooden box in the corner as he turned it off. "Is there anyone here?"
"Zakina...." The spirit box hummed as my blood went cold.
"What are you? Are you trapped here?" Zak could be seen swallowing a lump in his throat. Maybe now he realized how bad of an idea this was after all.
"Demon.....chest...." It shreaked after that and I thought for sure I was going to throw up.
"Dude... That box over there! I swear it fucking moved." Zak wandered over to it and I nearly jumped out of my skin as he gingerly touched it. Zak dropped the spirit box and looked to me. "Zak..... Zak?" I looked to Nick who was backing away to the door.
"Zakina...." His voice wasn't Zak's anymore. An evil grin crossed his lips as I bolted for the door and closed it, holding it shut. I heard shreaks on the other side as I looked to Nick.
"Fucking call Rana!!! Fucking now dude!" Nick scrambled for the slip of paper in his pocket, his hands shaking as I felt what wasn't Zak pulling on the door. My heart was pounding out of my chest. I knew damn well I wasn't to let Zak out of that room. Being as he was surely the strongest of us, holding the door closed wasn't an easy task.
"It's ringing... Come on...." Nick was holding his phone in his trembling hand. "RANA! It's Nick... Zak he's possessed! We fucking went when you told us not to go! Please I don't know what to do!" Nick was yelling into the phone. Was this how it ended? Us scared shitless and our best friend turned into a possessed demon?
Rana POV
I sipped on my glass of wine as I watched over LA from Lucifer's penthouse. The music from Lux downstairs could be heard from the balcony. My phone buzzed and I cursed under my breath as I sat down. Lucifer glanced to me from his seat as he 'tanned in the moonlight' per his words.
"Hello?"
"RANA! It's nick... Zak he's possessed! We fucking went when you told us not to go! Please I don't know what to do!" I froze with fear looking to Lucifer. I knew he heard Nick on the other end of the line.
"Keep him there. I'm on my way." I hung up and ran into Lucifer's bedroom. "Demonic knife Luci?! Where is it?!" Lucifer motioned to his painting and moved it, opening his safe.
"Do you want me to go with you? Rana if Zakina is that powerful to take a host she's -" I shook my head and snatched the knife.
"I'll be good Luci. Just if you sense me in trouble then obviously swing by." I chuckled before rushing to the balcony. I jumped off the edge letting my wings catch me. It was less than five minutes between the call and me landing out front of the building. I forced the door open and secured the dagger in the waist of my jeans. I heard shreaks from upstairs and rushed to see Nick and Aaron holding the door closed. Yet the pulling stopped once I was nearby. I walked to the door and placed my palm against it.
"Zakina." I hissed through my teeth and motioned for the other two to move away. "Do not fucking come in this room!" I could sense their fear and their rapid pulses thumping. I pushed the door opened and closed it behind me. The bold demon was no longer so violent. Zak stood in the corner, the moonlight enhancing his red eyes.
"Rana." It chimed as it crosses it's arms, well Zak's.
"You made a grave mistake my dear." I pulled the dagger from my jeans as he charged at me. I merely used the power of the divinity to pull the demon from Zak's body. I flung Zak into the corner where he landed with a thump. Zakina took the form of Maze, or as close as she could manage with the rest of the energy. She charged at me again, but I flung her to the floor and pinned her down as she shreaked.
"Rana!" It cried as I held the blade to its throat.
"As the angel of heaven and hell. I banish you from existence." I ran the blade along its throat as its body bursted into nothingness around me. I caught my breath and glanced to Zak, he was limp as I crawled to him. His energy was missing yet he had a pulse. I hid the blade once more before getting up and running to the door to open it.
"Boys... Carry him to the car. I have some healing I need to do and cleansing. Back to your hotel please." I motioned to Zak. Why the hell did I care about these humans? I could have let Zakina snuff their souls out. Yet instead I'd killed her. Banished her to never exist.
