Zak POV

My body ached from whatever the hell it had been through last night. It throbbed so much I didn't even want to get out of bed. I could only remember bits and pieces of the night. I was nearly certain Rana and Lucifer were talking in my room at one point. It took a moment for me to sit up and glance at the GoPro in the corner of my hotel bedroom. Maybe this would give me the answers I needed as to what happened at least for a portion of the night. Before even attempting to screw with it I managed a shower and put on some boxers.

The others must have moved to their rooms at some point because there was no sounds of snoring in my suite. I grabbed the GoPro and removed the memory card as I hobbled to the living room area and fell into the sofa. Coffee was on my mind as I slipped the memory card into my laptop and started scrubbing through the history. Rana was taking care of me and Lucifer somehow on the balcony. I wasn't ready for what I saw. Wings. Lucifer's giant white wings and Rana's just as impressive wings, yet one was black and the other was white. I shut my laptop and pulled the memory card from my laptop before rushing to grab my jeans. Even in my state I rushed to slip them on and securely place the memory card in my wallet. This was better than coffee for sure.

Was Lucifer actually the devil? What was Rana? What were they if not paranormal? I texted the others saying I was going to go see Rana and thank her for last night and that I'd meet them back here at the hotel.

My pulse was more rapid than when searching for the paranormal in haunted locations. It was a lot to take in considering all I remembered was investigating a demon last night. What happened after going there I didn't have a clue. However, that wasn't important right now.

I glanced at my watch reading a little past noon before rushing out of my hotel room and to the lobby. The hotel was right down the street from Lux thankfully, saving me from taking one of the SUVs. Lux was dark yet I still pulled on the handle and to my surprise it was unlocked and soft music filling my ears. Some sort of jazz played through the speakers as I rounded the corner to where the bars and dance floor were located. A woman with long brownish black hair and tanned skin was cleaning glasses at the bar.

"Hello?" She turned and gave a nod.

"We're closed."

"I need to talk to Rana. It's important." She sighed and sat down a glass before heading to the phone and dialing. Surely I thought she was calling the police but she seemed to be phoning Rana once she spoke.

"Hey there is a human down here for you... Yeah blue eyes and glasses.... 2000s hairstyle." She sat down the phone then looked to me. "She's coming down. Want a drink?"

"You got coffee?" I said sheepishly as she caught me in a gaze.

"Yeah.... I'm Maze by the way." Maze wandered down the end of the bar to a espresso machine and doctored up a mug before bringing it to where I now sat.

"I'm Zak."

"Ahhhh ghost adventures possession boy." She chuckled as I gave her a puzzled look. "You were possessed by Zakina last night. Wild bitch that one." She clicked her teeth as the elevator dinged. "I'll give you two some privacy." She wandered to where Rana came from and indeed left us alone. I was still processing the statement she'd just made about me being possessed at some point last night.

"You're looking well." I turned to look to her. She was wearing jeans and a black t-shirt without any shoes. "How are you feeling?"

"Confused." I stated and dug out my wallet, showing her the memory chip. "I picked that hotel room because it was said to be haunted... I didn't catch ghosts on my bedroom camera Rana." She looked at me in shock before motioning to the seat. I nodded and she sat beside me before grabbing a bottle of bourbon and downing a shots worth.

"You're handling this really well.... Lucifer's therapist Linda wouldn't speak to him for weeks and yet.... Just last night you saw divinity." Those dangerous blue hues looked to me. "Do you believe Lucifer now?"

"What does that make you then?"

"I'm a halfie.... Half good and half bad... You know the story of my brother's fall from heaven." She sighed. "Father-"

"God?"

"Yes." She rolled her eyes. "Dearest dad. He made Luci king of the underworld. Punisher of souls. I was sentenced to earth. Hence the one white wings and the one brunt wing. Luci kept his beautiful white ones and got a devil face. I got a colour change to show I had betrayed him." She took another shot. "Michael said I was welcome back home, but I can't leave Luci. Did you tell your friends?" I shook my head before taking a sip of my coffee.

"I needed to hear that first. I assume I'm not allowed to tell?"

"Humans can't handle divinity most of the time. I'm surprised you aren't acting crazy." She sighed once more and gnawed on her upper lip. "Zakina possessed you last night... Even for an angel I was worried what that demon could do to you." Her eyes met mine once she raised her head. "You're extremely lucky. No human wica, voodoo doctor, nothing but an angel could remove such a monster from you." I nodded and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"For that I'm eternally grateful." I moved my hand away when I felt that electricity once more. "Why is it every time I touch your skin it's like a warm shock.... A warm glow?"

"Divinity. Every human is drawn to it. Even Lucifer has the same pull. He can get anyone to say their deepest desires. I can give and take anyone's energy. Hence why Michael was so loud and clear. He was feeding off my energy. I could see him." She stood before clearing her throat as if she was stopping herself from getting emotional. "I'm sorry for the experience you had. If there is anything I can do to -"

"Join us on a few hunts." She looked to me startled before rubbing her forehead. It was obvious I managed to stress even this immortal woman.

"You haven't gotten enough?" I chuckled slightly and it even forced her to laugh.

"I'm drawn to it. Like you said." Divinity or not there was still something drawing me to her. I just couldn't figure it out.
