This is another weird, ranty, not really on topic chapter that makes you wonder why you clicked on this book and made it this far. Congratulations, now we're both disappointments.
Okay, I'll shut up and get to the point of the thing.
There has always been the trope of "the third Maximoff" and what the fuck ever type shit. Like sure, you do you, it's cool, I guess. Of the whole "family member of [insert Avenger here]" trope, it's the one that admittedly makes the most sense. All the other Avengers having glaring plot holes you have to jump over to make sibling fics work, but the Maximoffs don't, so no shit there's a lot of that stuff.
But like, here's the thing. When you create a younger sister OC of the Maximoffs, with a green aesthetic, face claim of Emma Dumont, and most likely metal related powers?
Congratulations, you've discovered Lorna Dane.
Lorna Dane, though not an MCU character, is a canon Marvel character. Yes, she's the sister to Wanda and Pietro, yes she's a mutant with magnetism, and yes, she's underused and ignored. Her superhero name is Polaris. It's a shame because she's pretty interesting and a box of crazy and I like that. She did feature in the mess of a show called The Gifted, which was the live-action X-Men show where she was played by Emma Dumont. And yes, she was kinda evil but like, that's just the mutant life at this point.
When fanfic writers use her as a face claim for an OC, I'm not entirely sure if they're self-aware? Like, I'm genuinely confused as to whether or not they do this on purpose, or it's a mistake they made because they saw a gif or something of Lorna Dane, didn't know the source material, and just based on OC on her design. I am confusion.
Basically, quit sleeping on Lorna Dane and stealing her and reusing her for your OC. My child deserves better.
