Note: I have changed the names because otherwise it would have seemed...weird. Anyone suspicious about the name change-Legolas is not in this until the end. Ish. He is not involved in the love story here. Just FYI.
Elizabeth POV
"Alright Elizabeth, go out and play!" My mother calls to me. I go out as she tells me to, but nervously. She never lets me out alone, and I am scared.
I look at a group of older kids playing. Do I join them? What do I do? I shrink back inwardly, but I walk forward. Away from the others. I don't know where I am going, but I don't care.
Melanie POV
I have never been here before. I don't know why my sister brought me here. I don't know anything or anyone here. I try to go back to Gilda, but she is gone.
Cautiously, I make my way forward. I don't want anyone to see me. I can't cause a disturbance.
Suddenly, I see someone. A girl, who looks about my age. I walk over to her. She freezes in fear, and I instinctively do the same.
"Who-who are you?" She asks.
"I'm a visitor here" I reply. "Who ate you?"
"I'm Elizabeth" she replied. Both of us have calmed down a bit. "But you can call me Liza"
"My name's Melanie," I reply, "but you can call me Mel"
Liza smiles. "Come on!" She calls, and begins to run to the forest. I follow her, laughing.
We soon arrive at a small river. Liza takes off her shoes, and dips her feet in.
"My mother takes me to do this" she says.
I soon join her by the river, and we start talking and throwing pebbles.
Elizabeth POV
I'm glad Mel is here. I don't have to worry about the older kids. I've finally found a friend.
Suddenly, a woman runs towards us. "Melanie!" She calls.
"Yes?" Mel replies, standing up.
"Where were you? I was looking everywhere!" She exclaims, her gazd then falling on me. "Is this your friend?" She asks.
Mel nods. "This is Liza" Turning to me, she says, "Liza, this is my sister, Gilda"
Sister? Where is her mother? I think.
"Goodbye!" Mel calls as Gilda leads her back.
"Bye!" I shout to her. I hope I see her again someday.
