"Jem, I am here at the airport now." Jem's mom. "Okay mom, I'll be there in 10 minutes." "Okay, take care." Jem's mom will go to the States as well to settle everything. After few minutes Jem arrived at the airport, "Mom!" Jem ran and hugged her mom so tight. "I missed you mom." "I miss you too anak. Let's go."
After almost 13 hours, Jem and her mom arrived at LAX. "This is it mom." "Yes, anak. I know you're gonna make me proud like you always do." "Thanks mom." Jem will study in New York. Jem received a message from Alex, "Hi, Jem. Get some rest, haba ng byahe mo. Enjoy everyday. If you need someone to talk to, I am just a ping away." Jem smiled when she saw Alex' message. "Who's that anak? It made you smile. Do you have a boyfriend?" "No mom, I'll focus on my studies. She's one of my friends in PH." "I see, Jem anak. It is okay to be in a relationship while studying, you need to set your priorities and also know your limitations." "I am good mom, I don't need commitments."
After few days, Jem is finally enrolled and will start her class on Monday. Jem's mom will travel back to SG for their business. "Anak, magiingat ka dito. Let me know if you need anything. Just call me okay." "Yes, mom. Take care of yourself." "I love you anak." "I love you too mom." Jem started to clean her apartment, her school is just five blocks away from her apartment. The apartment where she's staying hasn't been used for a year so it is hard to clean everything. "Are you busy?" A message from Alex. "Yeah, sort of. I am cleaning my apartment, gosh ang alikabok." "Really? Can I call via Facetime?" "Ah, okay." Alex called Jem. "Hey, can you tour me on your new place." "Yeah sure pero I am not yet done fixing my things." "That's okay." Jem showed Alex every corner of the apartment. "Your place is so nice and cozy." "You think so?" "Yeah, I'd love to go there and have a tour." Jem just smiled. "Thanks for answering my call Jem." "You're welcome." "I should be going now, I have a class." "Okay." "Talk to you soon." "Bye."
After the call, Jem seemed to be recharged and happy. She cleaned the whole apartment without getting tired.
