Oh my gods my Super Readers, another chapter in one whole day? That's amazing. But I wouldn't be able to publish this chapter with the help of my friend, dropsofargent. She completely edited this chapter for me and put it into 3rd persons POV for me. Please, check her out, why don't y'all.
Godfrey's POV
He had to tell his employer. He had to know of the threat that was much greater than those un-fabulous kids. Seriously, they had no since of style. And the new girl, Emma, ugh, she is so 2012.
He ran through the dark alleys of the night, stepping in rain puddles and nearly tripping on hoodlums.
Ugh, god, was he really the only one in this world with a good sense of fashion? These hoodlums still lived in the 1990's!
Coming to an abrupt stop in front of a metal door, he raised his fist and banged his knuckles on the cold, hard surface.
A medal slat slid open, revealing a pair of dangerous eyes. "What do you want?"
"It's I!" He announced, striking his signature pose. "Godfrey The Fabulous! Doom Bringer of New York City! The-"
"Ugh, you're back?"
Insulting much? The man didn't even let him finish his speech. "Indeed, now let me in."
The door swung open to a very muscular man wearing all black. He was so 2006.
"You know the routine." The man grumbled. "Grab your drink and leave. I don't need no freak ruining the business we got here."
He nodded and quickly scurried to the bar where a bar tender took his order.
"One Shirley Temple please." He requested, tapping his chin.
"That's not even an alcoholic beverage." The man grumbled. "You're always getting a woman's drink."
"Sir, please just get me the drink, or I'll have to give you some fashion tips." He insisted, adding a little wink to it for extra effect.
The bartender groaned before leaving to make his beverage.
"Godfrey, psst, Godfrey!"
He glanced over at a hooded female who sat next to him, looking at him with excited eyes.
"Yes?"
She stared at him with her green eyes before sliding a silver case over the bar counter to him. "This month's weapons are in. Hopefully these will do the trick."
Godfrey smirked as he took the silver case and the woman quickly left. She was one of his employer's trusty servants. She worked in the black market and supplied them with everything they needed.
As soon as Godfrey's drink arrived, he quickly gulped it down and rushed out of the bar, running through the alleys to get to the hideout.
The hideout itself was large. In fact, it was an abandoned boating yard. People used to come here, grab their boats, and head off to the canal that was luckily there in case of emergency. But that never happened any more.
As he slipped through the door, Godfrey placed the case down in the usual spot before running to the "dark room."
"Godfrey, back already? Tell me, did you get any new information about those...sidekicks' weaknesses?"
He quickly took a seat at the large table and stared into the black abyss that occupied the other half of the room."No, sir."
His employer, was Blade, a mysterious but powerful man who he had never even seen for himself as he was always concealed by the darkness of this room. All he ever got a glimpse of was Blade purple eyes, which glowed with power and hatred for the superhero sidekicks they both despised. Blade's reason for his hatred, that was still unknown to Godfrey.
"Then what did you learn from the attack?"
"I-" Godfrey gulped. He wasn't going to take the news lightly. "I learned of their new weapon! She's insane-"
"Godfrey, were you beaten up by Moxie again?"
"No!"
"Rosie?"
"Barely!"
He sighed. "Then who's this 'she'?"
He fiddled with his hands nervously, not sure if Blade would believe him. "She...Emma...she's new...she can do any ability."
There was silence. All that could be heard was his heavy and uneven breathing.
"Impossible." Came a few moments later.
"No, I swear it's true." He responded. "She made fire, ice, she shadow traveled, and she flew."
"Well," Blade started, his intimidation noticeable. "Looks like plans will have to speed up."
Godfrey sighed, running a hand through his sweaty hair. Ugh, he so had to condition tonight. "Well what do we do now?"
Blade chuckled. "We let that boy decide. I was able to give him the offer after you shot him off the roof."
"Did he see your face?"
"Of course."
He sighed again, a twinge of jealously shooting through him. He never even got to see Blade as himself and besides, Blade shouldn't do that. If the boy was to report to Will-
Purple orbs shone through the black abyss, letting Godfrey know Blade was prepared.
Blade's eyes shone with a new light, as if he knew what would be taking place.
"Now, let's see where this, Emma, falls into place." He chuckled, a dark, evil sound that reverberated through Godfrey's bones, sending a shiver up his back. "And how valuable of a pawn she'll be."
