Here we go my Super Readers! I know, you guys are probably hating on me for killing two characters, but I had to do that. It's to open up the inner beast in some other characters. It was all for reason, and hey, you guys might be surprised at what happens next, okay? So here we go.
Dylan's POV
Dylan couldn't take it anymore. His life was slowly crumbling apart, and he couldn't do anything to stop it.
Two nights ago, one of his best buddies, Trevor, was killed by Godfrey. And to top it off, Indigo, who his girlfriend cherished secretly, died a hero. Now everyone moped around, sobbing or going into depression. The only people they could send out to stop crime was Scott and himself, because Will couldn't leave the tower without someone going crazy.
Dylan sighed, burying his head in his hands. What was he going to do?
"Hey buddy."
Dylan looked over to see Scott sitting next to him on the couch.
"Hey. How's Rosie?"
Scott gave a side smile. "She's doing better I guess. Still in a coma. But at this point I don't want her to wake up because I'm afraid of what she'll do when she finds out about Trevor."
Dylan nodded, understanding where this was coming from. His girlfriend, Moxie, had been keeping herself locked up in her room. Sometimes, though, when she wasn't there, he had a feeling she was in Indigo's room.
"What are we going to do, man?"
His friend sighed. "I have no clue. I guess we could see how Abby and Leah are doing. They used their abilities together to put, you know, them, in a crystallized form so that they don't decay. They wanna have time to call up some mentors to come to a funeral we're supposed to have in who knows how long."
Dylan thought about it long and hard. Abby would most likely be in the infirmary where his deceased, frozen friends would be. He didn't want to see that.
"No." Dylan answered. "They need their rest. Besides, I don't want to guilt trip myself any more when I see them.
"I just want to know how Godfrey got in without tripping the alarms." Scott murmured.
Yeah, same here, Dylan thought.
"Hey guys."
They both looked up to see Will standing over them, dark circles under his green eyes and his short blonde hair in a ruffled mess.
"Hey." They said simultaneously.
"What are you guys up to?" He asked, stifling a yawn.
"Trying to find out what to do, I guess." Dylan answered. "What about you?"
Will ran his hand through his hair, looking as stressed as ever. "I've been trying to cheer Emma up. She's been blaming herself, saying it's all her fault that she doesn't know how to heal or bring others back to life."
"Bro," Scott started. "Didn't you just confess your feelings for her right before the attack?"
Will's face flushed, causing Dylan to snicker. "Yeah! Your point?"
"Looks like you just seem to have bad luck."
Will glared at them before yawning. "I hate you guys."
"Well?" Dylan cocked an eyebrow. "Why don't you go to Emma? She could use a friend."
"Like I said, I've been trying to cheer her up. It doesn't help that she tries to avoid me."
Both Scott and Dylan said a silent "oh" as if understanding. But they didn't. They both had girlfriends that they have to protect unlike Will.
Dylan jumped to his feet as a thought occurred to him. "I've got an idea!"
