Emma's POV
Slowly opening my eyes, my gaze fell on the bird printed ceiling of the room I shared with Rosie. I stared at it for a moment, memories of the brief but amazing times I'd had here flooding my mind. It brought a smile to my face but it shattered just as quickly when images of Rosie lying broken in the infirmary. I blinked, not wanting to look at it but unable to stop myself. It held the pain and sorrow of Rosie's memory. And even a bit of Trevor and Indigo.
I let out a shaky sigh and turned on my side, trying to curl up in a ball on my cold bed. But I stopped my movement, distracted by the person who slept across from me in Rosie's bed. His blonde hair was tousled, the blankets were tangled around his body, and his intakes of breath were slow and mellow.
"Will?" I croaked.
He didn't wake, he only stirred in his sleep. The corners of my mouth tugged up. I couldn't help but find it extremely adorable. Slowly sitting up, I stretched and swung my legs off the edge of the bed, letting my feet make contact with the cold floor. God, it was like this room was lifeless. Everything was cold.
I stood, bouncing on the balls of my feet before crouching next to Will. He continued to sleep soundly, his cool breath fanning my neck. Looking at him in this vulnerable state reminded me of last night's event. The memory kept replaying in my head over and over again. I shuddered. I just wanted to forget that. I made a deal with Blade and he said he would come back. I pretty much screwed myself over.
My hand moved on it's own, brushing back some of Will's golden locks. Geeze, what got into me? I could wake him up, and then where would I be? He stirred once more, but this time his hand came up from under the cover and grabbed mine that was still resting on his forehead, keeping his hair back.
Crap, I'm screwed.
"Don't go..." He murmured, leaning into my hand. I couldn't stop the full blown smile from crossing my face. How could he be this adorable and make me smile? I'd only just fought with him yesterday.
I pulled my hand away and stood. Sorry Will, I actually do need to go. Turning, I walked to the door and reached for the handle. "Emma?" I turned to Will and groaning internally. He was sitting up and looking at me. "Don't go."
"Oh, but I was going to get some food." I lied, mustering up a smile. "If you want I can-"
"Don't lie to me." He said flatly and my eyes widened a fraction. "You're going to look for Blade, aren't you."
How did he know I was lying? "I-I wasn't lying. I was-"
He stood and walked towards me, staring down at me with his green orbs. "Emma."
I blushed. Why? No idea. Maybe it was because of how close he was standing near me, or how my name rolled off his tongue so smoothly.
"I uh, have to go." I blurted, my hand going to the door knob and twisting it, opening the door. But just as fast as I had opened it, Will's hand shot out and he pushed it closed, keeping me in between.
"Emma, you're not going anywhere."
My cheeks burned. I gulped, keeping my eyes on his shirt. "But I have to use the bathroom!" I lied again. God, I was horrible at this.
