Moxie's POV
I couldn't believe my eyes. Emma was battling Godfrey The Idiot, and she was holding her own. But the question was, how? If I recalled, Emma could barely control her ability, and now she was going all ninja on the villain's ass. Something changed in her.
When the fight had first started, the two had charged each other. But then right when Godfrey was about to land a punch on Emma's face, she disappeared into nothing. She melted into his shadow. She had performed my ability and formed behind Godfrey, catching him off gaurd. But that's not where it ended. When he swirled around to face her, she quickly crouched and placed her hands onto the ground, turning the surface around her and Godfrey into ice.
"So you can do Moxie's and Leah's ability? Fool, I know how to beat those types!" Godfrey hissed as he slipped and landed on his ass. "I've seen all these tricks before! You're nothing special!"
A flame erupted in Emma's hand as she brought it closer to the villain's face. Oh boy, that caught him off gaurd. I had never seen his eyes that wide.
"Nothing special you say?"
"You did three abilities, how?"
She opened her mouth to answer, but that was her fatal mistake. From what I've learned from Godfrey over the years, he attacks you when you least expect it. So when she opened her mouth to speak, Godfrey landed a punch on her jaw, sending her sliding back on the ice until she slipped off the edge of the tower.
"Emma!" We all screamed.
We all stared wide eyed. How could that have happened to Emma? She was doing so good by controlling her ability, but then that happened.
I gripped my daggers as rage bubbled in the pit of my stomach. Emma didn't deserve to die like that! She was to nice and calm and, well, she was like us! She's the only one who had lived a normal life and respected us! She-
Something shot up into the sky, catching everyone off gaurd. And when my eyes adjusted to see what that thing was, I smiled.
"EMMA!"
"What the fabulousness!" Godfrey hissed. "You should've fallen to your death!"
Emma's form hovered with confidence as the wind blew out her messy bun, making her brown hair whip around her. Her blue eyes shone with anger yet calmness at the same time. She rubbed her jaw as the sun gave a "savior" effect to her. She, at that moment, looked badass.
"Geeze Godfrey, you have quite the punch. That really hurt."
The villain pulled out what looked to be a grappling hook. "That's it! Today you die!"
Really Godfrey? How is a grappling hook going to kill someone?
Emma's eyes widened, and she immediately flew all over the place as the idiot tried to get an aim on her.
"I've got an idea." Rosie, who was lying beside me, whispered.
"What is it?"
She smiled and tried to stand before I yanked her back down. "What are you planning, Banshee?"
"I'm gonna scream."
I shook my head. "Godfrey drained everyone's energy. How do you expect to use you ability?"
"Trust me, Shadow. Just get everyone to cover their ears when the time is right."
Sighing, I nodded and released my grip, allowing her to stand and give Emma the "sign" by nodding. Luckily Emma was paying attention.
Emma came to an abrupt stop, hovering while allowing Godfrey to get an aim on her.
"Finally!" He cried as he cocked the gun.
"Wait! Godfrey The Fabulous, won't you please grant me some last words before I meet my demise?"
Knowing what will happen, I nodded to everyone to cover their ears.
"Well, since you called me fabulous, I guess."
Emma smirked before calling out Rosie. "Now Rosie!"
Godfrey turned to Rosie just as Emma dove for the ground. Then Rosie released a bloodcurdling scream, making Godfrey be pushed off the edge. But before any of us knew it, the villain shot his gun, making the hook wrap around Rosie's ankle and dragging her with him.
"Rosie!"
Scott and I launched ourselves to our feet, running after Rosie who screamed and thrashed around.
Hercules leapt just in time. He grabbed his girlfriend's wrist and the edge as they both dangled. But, since they were safe, that meant Godfrey was too.
I caught up to them and poked my head over the edge to see Godfrey climbing up. Sighing, I threw one of my daggers right below Rosie's foot, cutting off the rope and allowing the villain to free fall until he accessed his parachute.
"I hate that guy." I growled.
"So, you guys got to me just in time, yeah?" Rosie shuddered.
Scott laughed. "Well we weren't given a notice."
"Please, just pull me up now."
"Oh come on, can't we just hang around?" Scott chuckled.
"Scott, honey, if you don't pull me up I'll have Moxie stab you in your sleep."
I gave a wicked grin as Scott swung Rosie up so that she could pull herself up.
Once they were both on their feet we made our way to everyone who were surrounding Emma and congratulating her.
"Nice job Emma!"
"You sure showed his ass something."
"Oh my gosh guys, we should so have a party for her gaining control!"
"Guys, it was nothing." Emma said. "I was just doing what you guys would do. I was just-"
Will came up behind her and lifted her up onto his shoulder, making everyone break into cheers. They all shouted Emma's name and laughed.
"You know," Rosie whispered in my ear. "I can so see them getting together."
I chuckled. "Same here bro, same here."
Everyone continued to cheer, but I couldn't break into a smile. Something horrible was going to happen because of what took place here, and I think my theory would be correct. Godfrey would tell someone more, way more, powerful than him, and all hell would break loose.
Sometimes, I wished my theory had never came to me.
