John tried to look through the window in the door of Christine's hospital room as the medics crowded around Christine's bed and appeared to be doing things to her which only made John worry more seeing them acting flustered around his beloved wife who he was so convince was dead "Why couldn't you just leave her alone?" Yelled Mick angrily, worried she was dead or in an even more serious condition than before.
"I love her, I was trying to be there for her!" John cried angry and upset at the same time as he looked at his longest time friend.
"She could be dead now?" Stevie asked in a squeak, feeling sicker by the moment and every second seemed to drag on and on for all of them as they waited and John was basically dragged away from the door by Robin as the medical staff came out.
"How is she?" John asked his voice full of panic.
"She appears to be stable, she suffering rom dehydration, blood loss, exhaustion and what seemed to be a panic attack!" a doctor exclaimed.
"Is she going to live?" He stammered as his mind was still reeling.
"We are hopeful, she just needs more fluids, more blood transfusions and heaps of rest, we also have to express her milk, it will give the babies more of a chance, she is sedated at the moment too, so she will be unconscious for a while which is best for her! She just needs rest and time to recover enough, hopefully we can get the babies stable as well and we can even arrange a counsellor to speak with her later. Having premature babies often takes a toll on the parents, especially the mother, self blame is common in situations like these, stress could have sent her into early labour but it appears she may have been in the early stages of it for a couple of days with how quickly the first baby was born!" The doctor said.
"You mean she might have been in labour before today?" Carol Ann asked and the doctor nodded and walked off up the hall.
"It wasn't your fault John!" Robin soothed "Sometimes these things cant be helped and the babies are still fighting, so is Chris, we need to be strong for them!"
"It's still my fault and I want to be in there with her!" John exclaimed still blaming himself.
"She needs rest so leave her be!" Mick exclaimed.
"Fuck off!" John snapped "I need to be with her, she nearly died giving birth to our children, the babies still aren't well, you remember how bad you felt when Jenny had Amy and you weren't there, well I am here for Christine, so stop throwing insults at me! I just couldn't handle lying to my wife and Lindsey deserved to know what an asshole I was too!" John snapped and stormed off up the hall, needing some air, a joint and a cigarette urgently, anything to try and calm himself and ease his stress.
Stevie glided off to the bathroom to breakdown and Robin hurried after her.
"Stevie, you should be resting!" Robin soothed quickly following.
"How can I Robin?" Stevie snapped turning around quickly as more tears streamed down her face "All the truth has come out! Christine and her tiny little babies are so unwell and I will loose her as my friend if she even survives and I will loose Lindsey too, all because John had to be fucking honest now at my wedding!" Stevie yelled and then burst into a crying fit.
Robin quickly hugged her and just held her "Just try to be calm for your baby Steph!"
"My baby who I don't even know who is the father of, I am such a bad person!" Stevie sniffled and just cried into Robin as she held her closely.
Meanwhile, Mick rubbed his head and was only distracted when Carol Ann lightly touched his arm "Micky, you need to try to relax, I was thinking we should all book rooms in that hotel close to the hospital so we can be near them!"
"Good plan, just do it, love!" Mick sighed and Carol Ann nodded and walked away, trying to help best she could. She still was worried about Christine a great deal but was trying to help the band best she could.
