Forgiveness

Christine nodded and lightly squeezed John's hand.  Although her mind was muddled and she felt dazed from the birth, the stress, the pain and the truth about John and Stevie, she still couldn't find herself to be angry also because she still had her almost one night stand with Mick too, she sometimes wanted to tell John but couldn't bring herself too, because she didn't want to cause a rift between Mick and John, so she understood John and Stevie's situation too.

At lesast John had been honest with her, granted it was so much later than he should have been and the worst possible timing, but he told her the truth and they were parents "Please Chris, I am sorry but I do love you, so so much!" He cooed and she nodded.

"I love you too and I forgive you, we all fucked up in the past, but its the future that count, don't stop thinking about tomorrow right!" She laughed softly and John was so happy to see her still crack a joke.

"You are so amazing Christine, my perfect woman!" John smiled and kissed her softly.

"Not perfect anymore John, I was only perfect before I married you!" She chuckled and looked at him lovingly.

"Still perfect!" John winked "Now we have perfect little babies too!" He added happily.

"I cant wait to see them, they are so beautiful!" She gushed looking at the pictures again.

"You can see them tomorrow, that gives you a chance to rest and heal too!" John soothed and kissed the side of her head.

"I just want to hold them!" 

"Soon darling, soon!" He cooed, rubbing her hand.

"John is right, you need to rest Christine, you did just give birth and have an operation!" Barbara smiled and John and Christine had actually forgotten she was in the room.

"I just want me babies!" She frowned at them both.

"Soon like John said, I will go organise an extra bed in here too, so John or I can stay with you tonight, we cant leave you alone, everyone knows you don't like hospitals and you are very sore and stressed!" Barbara soothed.

"I can stay with you, I don't want to leave you or the bubs!" John smiled. 

"Thank you!" She smiled back.

"You look very sleepy dear, I think you should get some sleep, Johnny and I are here and the babies are getting nice and healthy in the NICU and from your milk so you are doing everything for them, you need to rest now for yourself!" Barbara smiled warmly "I know the babies are all you are thinking of, but in a few hours after some rest you can probably see them but walking will hurt a fair bit so will sitting so try to sleep a little because the pain will exhaust you easily!"

Christine nodded "Thanks again Barbara!" She smiled tiredly.

"No need for a thanks, you are both family and I am sure Stevie would love to come in and see you too, probably they all would but maybe tomorrow is best for that!" 

"I'd like to see Stevie first before I rest!" Christine stated, she couldn't bear the thought of Stevie's stressing all night and Christine knew the younger woman would, even though she was hurt about the lie, she still didn't want Stevie upset or to stress.

"Are you sure?" John asked hesitantly.

"Yes, she is my best friend!"

"I will go get her, she hasn't left the hospital corridor yet, she has been so worried!" Barbara chuckled softly as she got up. 

"That is why I have to see her, so she actually goes and sleeps tonight, she needs rest for her and her baby too!" 

"I will tell her now!" Barbara smiled exiting the room.

"I'm still sorry Chris, but don't take it out on Steph, I feel like the asshole in the whole situation!" John sighed.

"John, lets forget, we are faithful to one another now and Buckingham Nicks are married, if it withstands this.  Lindsey as a lot more grudge issues than you and I do, I also aren't innocent in everything either. The night after I got sterilised I started to have sex with someone and only stopped because I was in pain, so lets let sleeping dogs lie now and put our time and energies into the babies we have!" She smiled and John nodded, even though he wondered who the mystery person was, he presumed it was probably Curry.

"I love you though and you are the only woman I want to spend my life with!" John smiled.
