Stevie felt so much more relieved as she saw Barbara, her mind was reeling in those few seconds as she opened the door that led back out into the corridor and she kept thinking of the baby she was carrying, she hoped so much it really was Lindsey's like she thought it was, but the doubt still lingered and crept into her mind all the time "How did it go sweetie?" The older woman instantly asked upon seeing her daughter come out of Christine's hospital room and interrupting her thoughts.
"Good, things appear to be sorted between Chris and I and she showed me the pictures of the babies!" Stevie replied, a soft smile creeping across her lips as she thought about the tiny little adorable babies and she already loved them so much too, she couldn't wait to meet them and cuddle them.
"That's good, I knew it would all be ok, now you can both get some rest, proper friendships will always stand the test of time, like you and Robin have and I bet over fifty years from now, Chris and you will still be best friends too, performing on the stages of the world!" Barbara chuckled softly and Stevie felt her heart warm at the thought, she hoped her mother was right.
"I hope so, I just hope I can sort things with Lindsey now, since we actually just got married today!" Stevie sighed feeling instantly deflated and worried.
"He is still here honey, I think he is just hurt, it was clear this drama is because you and John had some kind of intimate moment, Lindsey is a very proud man and you pair are like childhood sweethearts, that is why you both have had to overcome so many obstacles, you met in school, then you both grew and changed, then time and the stress of moving into the big city together, then the Polydor deal with the Buckingham Nicks album not succeeding and all the Fleetwood Mac dramas, but you married today, if you can both overcome all the rest, you can overcome a fling I'm sure, just talk to Linds and I am sure you can both sort things out!" Barbara soothed and then pulled Stevie into a hug "Also stop stressing so much, you have precious cargo on board!" She chuckled.
Stevie couldn't help smile more "You know Mama, you really are like an angel, you help everyone, I hope I can do that in time, I want to do that with my music, as silly as that may sound, I want my songs to be the ones people play when they are sad to cheer them up, I want my songs to get them through the darkness that I have felt!" Stevie explained softly with a shy little smile, she was worried she sounded foolish, she was insecure at times and worried people saw her as childish, also all her issues with Lindsey had contributed to most of if not all of her sings in some kind of way.
"That's lovely Teedee and always follow your dreams, they are coming true for you so much already!" Barbara smiled, squeezing her hand and in that moment Stevie felt like maybe everything would work out, her mother always helped her feel more at ease, she hoped she would have that effect on her child, she already never wanted the baby she was carrying to have a life of hers. Her life was magical at times, surreal but often stress-filled and gruelling.
"I just need to sort things with Linds!" Stevie frowned and looked down at the ground, still gazing at her beautiful wedding dress.
"Do you want me to find him?" Barbara offered.
"I feel like I need to myself, what direction did he go in?"
"Up that hall and to the left, I think that's where he is, I think the boys have been smoking on a balcony up there, good luck and I am sure Linds will understand!" Barbara smiled and hoped so.
Stevie nodded "I am going to try to sort things, neither Lindsey or I can run from eachother now!" She chuckled softly, patting her stomach and made her way up the hall, soon slipping out onto the balcony.
Lindsey quickly turned as he heard the door shut "Steph," he muttered softly, exhaling the smoke.
"I am so sorry Linds, about John, we never wanted it, it was a comfort thing, we don't love eachother, but you and I do and he loves Chris. I also truly think this baby is yours, a woman knows!" Stevie said softly and Lindsey couldn't meet her eyes "Linds!" She exclaimed.
