Chapter 4
Zainab's POV
I don't know why Amina is glaring at me. But I smiled at her any way. It's a very peaceful Monday and I don't want trouble. I don't know why but the events of Saturday was still on my mind. What happened? I don't know. so Amina is getting married. I'm so happy for her though. It was so embarrassing how I had to eat in front of the whole family. Yusuf is cute and I'm sure he'll be good to Amina. But my annoying stepsister won't even acknowledge me for accepting that guy who can't lower his gaze as my brother in law. I'm sure if I had said no and I didn't like him Baba would also have doubt about him too. The truth is that Baba trust my judgements maybe it's because I studied criminology.
"Hey Amy sisto" I cheered but she glared at me. "Na wa for you. You no wan even talk to me. No p." I said
She hissed and walked out of the dinning room. Her royal scrubs was neatly ironed.
I ate my breakfast and went to my room to prepare for my outing. I'm going to visit a friend with my brothers.
Danladi is my friend who I sometimes refer to as my hero. He is an average height, brown skin guy who is addicted to plantain chips.
He owns a pool room where people come to relax and mostly to play the game pool. I and my brothers also go there to play and hang out. In case you wondering. I'm actually an expert at the game.I call Danladi my hero because he once saved me and ever since then we have been tight friends. I really missed him because he always makes me laugh, he cares about me and tries his best to protect me from all the street thugs we have in this town. He's like a brother to me but some people think we are dating even when it's obvious that he has a huge crush on Amina my annoying stepsister. Some people are just so stupid.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★"This place empty." Ahmad said when we entered Danladi's pool room. The place wasn't filled with people like it used to.
"Yeah what happened? did people stop playing snooker?" Sadiq added as he walked to a pool table and grabbed a pool stick.
"Not really. Most of us just stop being lazy youths. It's Monday people are working." Danladi's voice filled my ears. The idiot was at my standing behind me.
"Did somebody talk?" I asked pretending not to hear him.
"Aww come on Zee love don't treat me like that." I didn't turn to face him I just ignored him and sat down on a chair beside Ahmad. I know you wondering why I go from missing him to ignoring him well, it happens.
"So what you trying to say is that people are no more jobless" Ahmad asked suprised. Even I am shocked. Usually this place is occupied by jobless, lazy youths and teen who still depend on their parents and loathe the idea of work. They come to play games some even try to use the center for gambling but my hero was definitely against it and put up a 'no gambling rule'
"Yes." He grabbed a chair and placed it in front of me and then sat down. "They are now jobful. So Zee didn't you Miss me?"
"Who are you? Your face looks familiar but I can't remember you."
"It's Danladi fa. Don't do like this."
"Oh my God! I thought you were dead. I'm shocked to see you alive were you resurrected or something?"
"I'm sorry wallahi I wanted to call you but I don't even have time to even eat sometimes."
"Ashe you know what you did. You ignored my calls, didn't reply to my texts. If you wanted me out of your life you could have just told me." I spat. I'm not really angry I just want to hear him apologize.
