Chapter 26

Zainab's POV

Agent Ola, Miss Ola, attorney Bisiola I really don't know which one to call her. The lady is one mysterious piece. Anyway she informed me that the trial is on Monday and I don't know if I'm ready for it but it's just something I have to do.

Mr Sani Bature, Adam's father is a very popular politician who is aspiring for a Senate seat making the arrest of his son is scandalous for him. Although while listening to news I discovered that he and Adam denied the allegations and Adam was granted bail of a million naira and two sureties of the same amount. Speaking of rich people.

If it was I who had gotten the option of either paying one million plus two millions or just stay in jail I think I'll have to stay in jail cause who do I know that can afford to pay such amount for my freedom.

I'll try to find out.

"Sadiq." I called getting my brother's attention which was previously on his phone.

"Yes." He answered turning to look at me.

"Let's imagine that I'm in trouble and I need like three million for bail and you have the three million or even more will you pay for the bail?"

"No." He went back to his phone.

Ouch! That hurts.

"I can't believe you won't help me. I'm I not important to you, don't you love me?" I asked.

"I can't waste my money on someone who gave me a pack of chewing gum as birthday gift. if you can't spend up to a hundred on me why would I spend millions on you." He said without looking up from his phone this time.

"I gave you a note too."

"Which says I love you bro p.s can you give me small from the chewing gum I didn't want to give it to you unwrap.'

"I do love you and there's love in sharing besides you know my head wasn't in the right place then. Lasst year I got you a really nice present."

"Yeah a pen." He scoff.

"With different colors Sadiq. I thought since you draw you might like a pen with different color."

"You could have bought me paints then it will be useful."

"So if I rely on you I'll still remain in jail."

"Absolutely."

Stupid boy. I can't rely on him so I'll be careful not to spend my money on him again.

The day went by slowly I tried to keep myself busy even if this past few days has been hectic and emotional with miss Ola preparing for the trial and telling me what questions I should expect from the opposition lawyer and how to tell testify in court. I'm really nervous and terrified what if we lose the case what if the judge is unfair and biase. Is there Justice? Can I have it?

"Mama Zee can I use your laptop I want to type something." Sally asked looking hopeful.

"Sally." I called.

"Yes." She said sweetly.

"If I have the option of either staying in jail or paying three million as bail and you have the money or even more money will you bail me out?"

Sally looked at me curiously. "Uhm it depends will you lend me your laptop."

"So except I lend you my laptop huh?" I was offended by her answer.

"Yes so can I have it?"

"No."

"Please I promise to bail you out if the need come and I pray it may never come." She begged holding my arm.
