              Chapter 24

    Yusuf's POV

I drove into the quiet neighborhood that use to be so lively and friendly when I use to live here. My friends and I usually play football at the desert like field just a few meters away, screaming and yelling at each other to pass the ball.

We were bunch of rich arrogant jerks. Some were players and would jump at the opportunity to date and dump any girl they see, others stick to one girl who they try to control, feeling like they belong to them but I was different. I never was the ladies man but I didn't deserve it anyway because I barely notice any girl except for Hafsah then. The person who deserves the title of ladies man then was Tijani also known as Teejay. He was charming and also a sweet talker. His favourite pastime was breaking and playing with girls heart.

When I found out that Teejay now works with the DSS I was honestly shocked. I honestly pictured Teejay as someone who was going to rely on his mother's wealth and become a great drug addict.  During our teen years he got involved in drugs and his mother found out with the help of a certain servant girl. I really can't remember.

I pulled up at Teejay's mother's house. I came down from my car and knocked at the gate.

It has been some days since I told Zainab that I'll refer her case to the DSS I just hope Teejay would be able to help out with the case. It's not fair that she suffered so much and Justice wasn't served.

I knocked again when I waited for some seconds and no one answered. I heard the clustering of keys I moved backwards and waited for the gate to open.

"Who I be?" Came the accented voice. The man sounded like an Hausa man.

"I'm looking for Teejay." I answered.

"I say who you be. Who I want see oga Teejay?"

"His friend. Teejay aboki na ne. Yana ciki? (Teejay is my friend. Is he in?)" I told him in Hausa

The man burst into a laughing fit. He was probably laughing at my Hausa.

"Oga abeg no speak Hausa make you no bite your tongue. Ma go call am for oga Teejay wetin be my name?"

"Umar Yusuf."

He went inside, came back shortly and allowed me in.

"Thank you."

I walked inside the house to the living room which had a very beautiful interior. This family is doing well. Teejay's mother is a bank manager while his father is the CEO of a very big company that deals with production of steel and iron ore products, a Very lucrative business.

"Tata the doctors. Our beautiful baby doctor." Teejay's teased immediately he saw me.
We went to the sitting room where I made my self comfortable on a couch.

He looks so muscular now.  So changed he no longer look like that lanky cute boy with the charm he used to be. He's changed so much.

"Man look at you. You are now big and manly. Mummy's boy." I teased back.

"I won't deny that I'm mummy's boy because I'm proud of it unlike you who is still a baby in everyone's eye Tata."

"Stop calling me that stupid name. Anyway how have you been?"

"I'm good. Thank God I'm back on track with life again I'm no longer a drug addict. Allah saved me from that life."

"Alhamdulillah. Just one question. Are you still a player.?" I asked

He threw his head back laughing.

"Tell me man." I insisted.

"I think I'm finally done with that life two weeks ago. You see I've been trying to get ahold of this particular girl but she hates me." He told me
