Chapter 34
Zainab's POV
Three days later I found myself inside a bus heading to Abuja. Even though I was offered a free ticket to board a plane I refused. I've never board ba plane before and I'm not ready to be in one.
Another reason I don't want to travel by plane is because i won't get the chance to buy miscellaneous items from street hawkers. I love using public transport because it's fun. I get to just sit with bunch of strangers and observe them. For example the man sitting beside me was busy watching a movie on his phone ignoring every other persons in the bus as for the man by my left he was just sleeping every now and then his head lands on my shoulder I frequently nudge him so he can sit up and stop making me uncomfortable. In case you didn't get it I'm stuck between two men it would have been okay if the that sleeping man just stay awake.
The girl behind us keep receiving calls from different people who seems to monitoring her journey and the man sitting beside the driver just buys anything he sees anytime we are stuck in a little traffic
When I think about I realized how similar I am to this people. The guy besides me watching a movie is minding his business and I'm very good at that, he's shutting himself from reality and focusing on the fiction in his phone, I do that too. While the other man was sleeping not caring if the ride is bumpy I'm also like that sometimes I sleep deep too. While the girl who keeps receiving calls has people who cares about her and so do I. My siblings all chatted me up inquiring about my journey. Yusuf and his mother also calls every hour and so did my parents, see they Care and finally the man besides the driver is a fan of junk food and so am I.
We finally arrived Abuja after a long seven hours journey. What a slow driver our driver was.
The man who was watching a movie on his phone didn't realize that the car had stopped and we have arrived at the park."Ehm guy we have arrived can you please step down so I can also step down."I say to him with all the politeness I could muster
"Uh?" Confused he looked around. It seems like realization hit when he muttered an 'oh' and gently step down.
"I wonder what he's watching that made him forget himself." I mumbled to myself.
"Young Justice." The man replied throwing me off completely. He wasn't supposed to hear that.
My eyes widen at his sudden response. It's the first time I heard him speak since I met him like seven hours ago.
"Wow! Young Justice it's really interesting. I see why you are lost in it." I said to him after I got over my shock.
"You watch it too?" He looked appalled.
"Yes. My favorite character is Robbie and Artemis." I informed him with a smile in which he returned.
He seemed like a shy person. He stole glances at me a few times before continuing our conversation as we walked to together from the park.
"My favorite is aqua lad and super boy they are my favorite for the time being. Wow I didn't tag you as someone who would be interested in animation like this."
"Oh I know why. it's because my mother made me dress like a fashionista do I appear to be someone who is more into chick lit and stuff like that?"
He nodded letting out a soft chuckled.
"Well I'm actually into chick lit and any other genre. As long as the movie is interesting. So are you waiting for someone?" I asked changing the topic.
"No I'm here to visit my brother and he sent me his address so all I have to do is Trace it. What about you?"
"My fiancee said he's going to come get me."
