Chapter 29

Yusuf's POV.

Silence, peace, a quiet Serene is what I want, what I need but I guess it's difficult to find that in the environment I live in.

I come home after a stressful night at work and I want to relax so my body won't breakdown and my brain would continue functioning well but no my lovely party people that I call neighbor decided that they rather play loud banging music and disturb the whole neighborhood Don't they know I'm a doctor who sometimes does night shifts and i will need sleep in the morning.

I hate this place. I can't wait to move out.

Work shouldn't be so hectic, people should stop being sick and start taking care of themselves but no they rather ignore safety measures and become sick so that they can stress the poor cardiologist. It sucks.

Lack of sleep and stress is making me blame people for what they can't help. I know they don't want this sickness for themselves. All I need is at least one hour sleep maybe two. I don't want to have dark circles under my eyes. They don't look good on me.

Just when the sleep was about to catch me someone knocked at the door. I really need to move out.

"Tata are you in there?" My mother soft voice from from outside my room.

"Yes mummy." I answered.

She entered inside smiling at me as she sat beside me on my bed.

"I just want to inform you that your father will be going to Kano in two days and he's using that opportunity to see Zainab's family so they can fix the wedding date."

I am happy. I really am but I also need strength to be able to express my happiness and in order to get that strength I need sleep.

"I'm going shopping later in the day. I want to buy presents for my future daughter in law. Will you take me?" She asked excited.

"Yes mummy. Can I sleep now?. I'm about to lose my mind." I groaned.

"Ok Tata sleep well you deserve it." She left me alone finally.

I lay down and tried to catch up with sleep and I eventually did. Oh sleep how I missed you.

I found myself shuffling my drawer for my car keys after a good three hours sleep. I couldn't find the key. Guess I was too exhausted to care where I dropped the keys. I went back to the living room to search for them so I could drive my Mom to wherever she is going.

"What are you looking for?"

I was to stun to even look at who had that voice. What she doing here?.

"Hafsah what are you doing here?"

"So rude baby. I came to visit or can't I visit again?" She bat her fake eyelashes.

I didn't expect to see my ex girlfriend.... No not an ex girlfriend. I don't know how to classify my relationship with her really. We were together but not really romantic. She used to get angry when other girls flirted with me so I just steered clear of girls to avoid her drama. That went on for sometime until she decided I'm too boring for her and left. I was so relieved then because she was too clingy.

"Ah Tata you are out." My mother walked in dressed in a black abaya."

"Mummy you said Yusuf was sleeping" Hafsah complained pouting

"I was. I just woke up." I said and continue looking for my car keys. "Mummy did you see my car keys?" I asked when I couldn't find it.

"Are you going out?" Hafsah asked her previous smiling face turned into an annoyed one.
