[A]

On the balcony below my kitchen window I stood together with two other employees as Emily got into the cab that was going to take her back to Philadelphia. I felt many different feelings boil, but I think confusion and frustration was fighting to end up as the winning part.

I'm tired. Tired of everything. Especially this school. Today was the first day I actually considered quit working here and go home to New York permanently. I'm sick of this old and malodorous place. I hate it.

There's only one person who'd be interested in listening to me while I explain how everything is so messed up in my life, and that's Micah, my oldest brother.

I headed into my apartment after the car had left the school area and started to pack my stuff. This is a nice little apartment, but it does not weigh up against hell on earth. I'm convinced that Micah will help me figure out what to do next. He cares deeply for me, I know it.

I did not bother to get confirmation from the principal. If she gets mad at me for getting into a cab and leaving Jefferson's in the middle of my shift, then it's her problem. I'm not going back here and if she has complaints about me, then my father is just a phone call away. He might also get angry with me, but it'd finally give me an opportunity to tell him what I think about the place.

Five minutes later I found myself standing outside the huge gate that separated Jefferson's from the rest of the world. On this side of the wall I could breath air that felt like heaven compared to the one I've been breathing for over a year.

The cab was spotted in distance and parked in front of me. ''Miss. Dilaurentis?'' The driver asked to double check after he had got out of the car.

''Correct.'' I replied and let the driver put my bags in the trunk. I got in the backseat and stared out the window when the cab started to drive away from the school area.

''Is it as fancy as it looks?''

My focus shot to the front of the cab, where the driver was sitting. He glanced every now and then in the rear view mirror. I'm not creeped out, just shocked that he spoke up when he did.

''Um.. It's fine, I guess.'' I uncomfortably said and adjusted myself in the seat.

The driver smiled and gave me a small smile through the mirror. ''Are you a student there?''

''No. I used to work there.''

''Used to?'' He asked curiously.

''Until today.'' I honestly said and felt a little proud of it. It's time for me to move on with my life, and now I have nothing to look back at. Before today I didn't want to leave because of Emily, but now she's not playing a irreplaceable part in my life anymore. I'm not done with her though. I have a lot of questions to ask, and a lot of answers I deserve to receive.

''Oh, I'm impressed. Sounds like you're up to something life changing.'' The driver chuckled. He was a guy that seemed to be in his middle twenties with his brown hair slicked back and bright green eyes glowing when he looked at me through the rear view mirror.

He was actually very attractive.

''I'm 21. It's about time I make some life changes.'' I pointed out and grabbed my phone from the purse I had placed on my lap. It's before lunch time.

Maybe I should call Micah and tell him that I'm coming.

''I wish I had so much courage. Seems so easy for some people.'' The driver sighed, and I noticed how he thought about what I had said. Maybe he's in the same position.

I dialed Micah's number and held the phone against my ear.

''Micah.''

''Hey, big brother.''

''Alison? Wow. I did not expect you to call.''

''I know, and I'm sorry if I'm bothering you but-''

''You're never bothering me, Ali. You know I always have time for my little sis.''

That made me smile. My brother is such a cutie. I'm not allowed to say that out loud though. He always tells me that it's not the best way to describe a guy, while I think cute and nice is two of the best things a person can be.

''You really know how to charm a lady, Micah. Are you home in two hours?''

''Uh if you mean in my apartment in Philadelphia, then yes I am.''

''Good. I was wondering if you'd mind if I showed up and stayed for a few days?''

''Not at all. I'd love to catch up with you. Just swing up whenever you want.''

''Thanks, you're a lifesaver. I'll see you soon.'' I hung up and put the phone back in my purse. Now I can't wait to see my brother again. It's been so long.

''I'm assuming we're changing to the train station?'' The driver asked.

''Oh! I'm so sorry. I said the bus department to you, didn't I?'' I looked apologetically at him, but he just smiled in return.

''It's no problem, Miss. Dilaurentis. I'm working the whole day, and I don't mind spending fifteen minutes with you instead of some old lady that yells at me for driving too fast.'' He explained and kept that smile on his face.

''Should I take that as a compliment?'' I teased and leaned forward in between the front seats.

The guy tilted his head to look at me, then whispered. ''You definitely should.''

I gulped and sat back straight. His breath smelled like fresh mint and I really can not handle it. I chuckled nervously and felt my cheeks becoming redder. I suddenly felt the panic as I realized that I'm in a car and can't get out of here. Fuck, why did I say that? The sweat appeared and the ability to breath properly disappeared. ''Sorry. Do you mind stopping the car for a second?''

He didn't hesitate. He drove to the side of the road and unlocked the doors.

I hurried out of the car and stretched out. The feeling slowly faded, but I needed a minute.

''Are you alright, Miss?'' The guy asked concernedly as he rounded the car.

''Yeah. Sometimes I just feel a little trapped in small spaces.'' I casually replied as I inhaled some fresh air.

''I get that. I have the same problem while flying airplanes or while I'm in an elevator with people.'' He told me and leaned back against the car. He understood how I felt.

''Thank you for understanding. Sometimes I feel a little embarrassed about it.'' I said and turned around to walk back to the car.

Just as I passed him, he whispered; ''That's nothing to be embarrassed about.''

I stopped right next to him and looked into his green eyes. They were speaking to me. So intimate and sexy. He glanced between my eyes and lips. Right there, in that moment, I felt a sudden need to taste those lips of his. As I stepped back so I ended up in front of him, he in one motion grabbed my waist and pulled our bodies together before our lips connected roughly. It lasted for a couple of seconds, before I opened my eyes and realized what the fuck I was doing. I pulled apart from him and stepped back. ''Oh my god. I'm so sorry, but this shouldn't be happening.''

He nodded disappointedly, but looked like he understood. ''I get it. Let's get you to the train station.'' He sternly said and got back in the car.

I groaned loudly and mentally slapped myself for being to stupid before got in the backseat. The trip towards the train station continued, but not a word were said. Thankfully.

Things are getting really complicated. How the hell will they solve this? Emily is going back to Philadelphia with her mom, and Alison is leaving Jefferson's.

Hm.. What will happen next?
