Fifteen minutes later

[E]

''Do you need help with your homework?'' Spencer asked from the desk by her bed.

I laid on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. Ever since I left that bathroom ten minutes after Alison did, It hadn't been one thought that hadn't included her. I were convinced that I was going nuts about her. I mean she fucking kissed me on the cheek and now I can't think straight.

''Hellooo? Earth to Emily? Are you there?''

I frantically sat up and adjusted so I had my chested leaning against the wall. ''I did it before I went swimming.'' I simply answered and buried my face in my hands. I wasn't sad, just extremely confused.

''Alright. Are you okay? You've acted a little weird ever since we got back from the canteen.'' Spencer pointed out as she stopped writing in her notebook and turned her attention to me.

''I am fine. Just a little stressed.'' I lied. I can't talk to Spencer about this, especially after how she clarified the rules for me just a couple of minutes before it actually happened.

''Let's say I believe you.'' Spencer rolled her eyes and swung around her chair to continue doing her homework.

It's not that I don't trust Spencer. But I know what would happen if this got out and the seniors heard about it. I'd be expelled in a heartbeat and Alison would probably get fired. I can't risk that. I have to pretend like nothing ever happened.

''Don't be mad, Spencer.'' I got up from the bed and went over to where she sat. When she didn't response to me, I tickled her in the side and forced her to give in. She began to laugh uncontrollably and tried to push me off, but failed overall. ''Come on, don't be mad.'' I insisted.

''Fine! Fine! I won't!'' Spencer managed to squeeze out as she fought for air.

I stopped and threw myself on her bed. ''That's what I wanted to hear.''

''You're so mean.'' Spencer muttered, then groaned because of how easily she gave in. ''I hate that you take advantage of me.'' She added with a chuckle.

''That sounds so wrong.'' I laughed and rested my head on top of my left arm. ''But you better get used to it. I'll win over you this whole year.'' I smirked victoriously at her.

''Em..'' Spencer whined and rolled her chair up to me. ''Why don't you trust me enough to tell me what's on your mind?''

''We've known each other for a week, Spence. And honestly, I don't know much about you. So why should you find out about my secrets?'' I questioned.

''Because I'm awesome?'' Spencer tried. ''Fine.. What do you want to know about me?''

I thought about it and remembered something Laila told me when I first got here. ''Laila told me something about your father doing big business abroad. Is that true?''

Spencer nodded. ''In Switzerland and Germany.''

''What does he do? Is he like a lawyer or something?''

''Something like that. His profession isn't something I'm allowed to talk about. Not even I know exactly what he's doing, to be honest.'' Spencer explained, and if I didn't saw wrong I caught a glimpse of shame being included.

''What about your mother?''

Maybe I'm crossing a line with all these questions, but if I must learn to trust this girl then I must have something to use against her if she turns on me. I know how it is to be abandoned or betrayed. I'm refusing to let it happen again.
