" I almost forgot here," he said handing me a warm paper bag with delicious cinnamon rolls.
" Thanks, but let's share on our way to school," I suggested.
" Sure."
I handed his the roll and took one for myself, leaving the rest behind.
I closed the door and hopped of the steps and we began walking.
" How did you do it?" He asked.
" Do what?" I asked while taking a bite of the delicious pastry.
" How did you break with him without him killing you?"
" Well actually," I stopped to finish chewing," He was very understanding and nice, he said he was willing to wait."
" Wow looks like he took it all out on me," he chuckled, nervously scratching his neck," At least he didn't hurt you, I would let him beat me all the times in the world if it meant you were safe."
I blushed and looked down to the ground, " Thanks."
He chuckled, " I love it when I make you nervous."
That hit hard just like when Grayson said he liked when I blushed
" Shut up."
" Did it hurt?"
" Well I felt bad that I ended things but I'm glad I did."
" Well I bet you aren't as happy as me," he confessed.
" Very funny."
" I know you like it," he teased.
" Stop!" I groaned.
All he did was laugh at me.
" Sorry for the punches but you never told me how they happened?"
" Well I was actually coming to see you after our conversation to give you the rolls but when I came Grayson was coming out. Then like out of nowhere he just jumped on me and started punching me. Then he just left, that's when I decided that I shouldn't knock on your door. Plus he kept saying stuff like it's your fault, I'll kill you and a bunch of bullshit," he explained.
" Thanks, I'm still sorry!"
" Nah it's all good," he assured.
" By the way I thought you were beaten up by a while group of men, who knew Grayson could beat you? I should consider dating him again," I joked.
" Hahaha," he laughed sarcastically, " Very funny, I never said I didn't fight back, just saying."
He shrugged his shoulders.
" Ah ok then."
We walked some more until we were in the front of the school.
" See ya later," he waved.
" Bye."
How did Monday come so fast?
It was a bit awkward seeing Grayson without his usual smile and it only crushed me more.
I kept moving my eyes to him and staring intently not knowing why. Guilt flooded over me.
But I still managed to get my perfect notes like always.
At lunch I sat alone in a table and it kind of hurt. Too bad Andrew had 5th period lunch not 4th.
I kept swiping through Instagram when I saw a picture of Grayson kissing another girl. To be completely honest it crushed my heart.
I saw when it was posted and it was last night.
I'm sure he was glad to break up so he could fuck another girl.
Did he really get over me so fast?
I chugged some water and headed to the bathroom.
As soon as I entered I bumped into this girl I didn't know.
" You're April right?" She giggled.
I nodded.
" Why did you break up with Grayson he seemed so happy with you, I've never seen him so happy?" She explained.
" Sorry but who are you?"
" I'm sorry I'm Kathy, I'm Bryan's girlfriend, Grayson's best friend."
" Ah yes I remember Bryan."
" But seriously you made him a better person I hope you work things out with him," she added before exiting the bathroom.
Did I change him that much?
I scoffed and did my business, washed my hands and refilled my water bottle.
What did I do to stop him from going to every girl...
What about me made him so happy?
The thoughts were making my head hurt. So I decided to just walk to my next class and rest my head on my desk.
I slowly closed my eyes for a second before having to reopen them, the overwhelming sound of other students entering the room woke me back up.
I felt a bit dizzy but just shook it off and continued to wait. My petite teacher walked into the door and explained our plan for the day.
School was so boring, we did the same thing over and over.
Inside my head I replayed the kiss I had with Andrew and my heart thumped into my chest. I couldn't help but smile.
The puzzle pieces still fit
